Lennon Cottage with Countryside Views

A pretty cosy cottage with views of endless Breton countryside, attached to the British owners village house. Located in Central Finistère, we are a 2 minute drive from the beautiful Nantes-Brest canal (known for its fishing and cycle path), and approximately 25 minutes from the glorious sandy beaches of the breath taking Brittany coastline. In easy reach of all of Western Brittany's attractions from Quimper to Brest, the cottage is just 1 mile off the N164 road, and ten minutes from the N165. The cottage is recently renovated having previously been the stable block for the main house. Over two floors, the ground floor is open plan including a kitchen area, seating area and dining table. Upstairs is a bedroom with King-sized bed, and a single bed on the open landing area. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils and a barbecue is available on request. The cottage has a separate south-facing, fenced, garden area which looks over the countryside towards the Les Montagnes Noires (the Black Mountains), with the Nantes-Brest canal running through the valley below. On a clear day, you can see the Domain Trévarez (Trévarez Chateau) and the Roche du Feu (Rock of Fire), both fantastic places for walks with spectacular views. The hosts live right next door to the cottage and will be available to answer questions during your stay. The neighbours are also British, extremely friendly, and happy to answer questions about the area if required. Lennon is a small traditional village with minimal facilities (Bar Tabac and Post Office - in the Mairie). However, there are good community facilities opposite the cottage which include a tennis court, basketball/football court, area to play petanque, a playground for small children and a skateboard park. Shopping facilities including large supermarkets, local shops, bars and restaurants can be found in Châteauneuf-du-Faou (7km), Pleyben (7.5km) and Chateaulin (18km). There is no public transport in Lennon, so a car is absolutely necessary. Ample car parking for the cottage is available in the village centre (approx. 50 metres from the cottage). Both French and UK (freesat) TV are available. Please let us know if you would prefer UK TV when you book the cottage. WiFi is also available.
