Garden Cottage is a detached cottage set in a quiet location in the grounds of the owner’s home with its own private courtyard garden. Just minutes’ walk to sandy beaches and the village high street. The bright accommodation is beautifully presented throughout and provides a perfect base for couples or a family to explore this attractive coastal area of Fife. An entrance porch leads through to the hallway with a cosy living room to one side and a separate dining room with a wood burner to the other. The contemporary kitchen is off the dining room and has a breakfast table, plenty of public space for everyone. On the first floor are two bedrooms, one double, one single, and a family bathroom. The private courtyard garden area with garden furniture is a sun trap and an ideal spot for morning coffee or al fresco dining. Aberdour is an attractive village to explore on foot, the high street has an excellent deli and café, local hotel, a bakery and some quirky independent shops. There is a park and playground, heritage centre and Aberdour Castle and walled garden, one of Scotland’s oldest standing castles. The shore and old harbour are only minutes’ walk from the cottage. With two fabulous sandy beaches, one a popular location for families, picnics and water sports, and the other with rock pools to explore, both overlook the Firth of Forth. The Fife coastal path passes through the village, and for guests who enjoy walking, it is a fabulous way to discover the nearby villages in either direction, enjoy wonderful views and see the sea life and birds. Aberdour railway station has a regular service that takes you right into the centre of Edinburgh in under half an hour, travelling over the world heritage Forth Rail Bridge along the way. Edinburgh as much to offer with many events throughout the year including the Military Tattoo and International Festival, alongside a great variety of attractions, including Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyrood House. Well worth a visit, the delightful town of Dunfermline has a magnificent palace and abbey, the final resting place of Robert the Bruce and 11 Scottish kings. The town has a good selection of shops, places to eat and a cinema complex. Linlithgow Palace, Perth and Stirling are all within driving distance and are sure to make for great days out. Free WiFi
