The Lodge is a stunning hidden gem, a unique property tucked behind the shops on Midhurst's main street, which itself lies at the heart of the South Downs National Park. The area offers something for everyone, whether exploring the walking/cycling trails of the area, (local bicycle hire available), going to a horse or motor racing event at Goodwood nearby, visiting Petworth's antique shops, the sandy beach at West Wittering, or exploring Midhurst's history and its fantastic local walks, shops, pubs and restaurants. The Space The Lodge is a fantastic newly refurbished detached studio, a small but cosy pied-a-terre, which is very convenient for Midhurst and the South Downs National Park. It has a private gated entrance, making it suitable to store a couple of bicycles during your stay. The accommodation is extremely innovative in its design, including a lounge/bedroom area with electric recliner sofa for two, TV with freeview and DVD player, USB ports for charging, free WIFI, wardrobes and cupboard storage, plus a very easy to pull down and comfortable double bed which has a memory foam mattress, this stores away easily during the day to maximise your living space. There is a new fully fitted kitchen with oven, hob, sink, extractor fan, fridge, washing machine, kettle and toaster, plenty of cupboard space complete with all crockery and utensils you may need and even a wine fridge! Kitchen seating is via a large breakfast bar with two stools. The bathroom has an electric shower, toilet and vanity sink unit with two drawers, heated towel rail and a wall cabinet that illuminates as you wave your hand underneath it. Towels and bed linen are provided. Heating is via a wall mounted unit in the lounge area, this doubles as a heater and also provides super cool air conditioning- perfect for the warm summer months, the bathroom towel rail, and underfloor heating in the kitchen area. Outside there is a private sunny courtyard with a table and two chairs, plus a bench for relaxing after a busy day exploring. There is a sold secure fastening for secure bike storage. It is extremely private and has excellent outside lighting, so on a warm evening you can enjoy a glass of something chilled alfresco. Guest access The Lodge is detached and solely available for guest use. It is all on ground level and the accommodation is suitable for couples or solo travellers, business visits, weekend breaks or longer ones and ideal for those wanting to explore the South Downs National Park. There is parking available on North Street immediately outside the property, alternatively North Street Car Park is a very short walk away and provides free parking from 5pm to 9am. Guest interaction We like to welcome all guests in person on arrival. We live near the property so we are close enough to be available if you have any questions or need any help during your stay, however we will leave you to enjoy your stay when we are not required. Neighbourhood overview The Lodge is in an extremely convenient location, being in the centre of the rural market town of Midhurst. It is approximately 30 seconds walk to North Street, which has most of Midhurst's main shops, pubs and restaurants. Midhurst provides all required amenities, including a Tesco Express, butcher, baker, shops, cafes, great pubs and restaurants as well as chemist's, hairdressers, banks and a post office. The South Downs National Park Centre is approximately 1 minute walk away from The Lodge and is a great place for finding out about local information and events that may be taking place during your stay. Getting around The main travel links for Midhurst are via the bus stand at North Street, a very short walk from The Lodge. From here there are regular bus routes in all directions. The nearest train stations are Haslemere, which provides fast links to London, and also Petersfield and Chichester. Other things to note There is a welcome folder inside The Lodge on arrival which gives all local information you may require during your stay, including recommendations for fabulous local places to eat and things to do in the area. The Lodge is provided as self catering accommodation, but tea, coffee, sugar and milk are provided for your arrival.
