Villa Forodhani: A charming ocean front palazzo

The Villa Forodhani is a historical but recently restored spice traders residence set at the waterfront in Stone Town, Zanzibar. It is part of the sultan palace complex and has nearly 400 m2 with elegant and classy furniture in all the suites and common areas. Our staff provides daily cleaning and basic amenities. Breakfast and meal cooking services are provided at a fee upon request. We can assist you with booking daily activities and provide you information on any local attractions. We book individual suites that fit two guests. If additional guests come, they would need to book additional suites. All suites have their own fully equipped ensuite bathroom. We have extensive common areas (living room, piano room, balconies) and a unique terrace overlooking the sultan palace, the historic royal cemetery, the ocean and nearby prison island. Guests can enjoy all common spaces including rooftop terrace, living room, balconies and kitchen. Whole property incl. rooftop, except other bedrooms and office. Our house keeper Warda and other staff are happy to assist you. Taxis, boat trips and guided Stone Town tours can be organized within walking distance. Villa Forodhani is part of a social enterprise, an active company's office and a residence. During the day you might meet our super friendly and helpful staff working in the living or office room (max. 2 pax). After 5pm you can enjoy the property without any disturbance. Kindly note that Stone Town is 99% muslim and you will hear the call for prayers 5 times a day, the earliest just before sunrise.
