THE SITUATION : Nested in the middle of the Norman countryside, this house and this garden are perfect to relax and to enjoy the nature. It's also an excellent location to discover Normandy and for example D-day beaches. Easy access : 1h45 from Paris (140km or 87 US Miles), 5km (3,1 US Miles) from Bernay (Direct train from Paris St Lazare) and 45 minutes from the beach (Honfleur, Deauville). 20 min from Lisieux. Near Highway A28. The house is only 58km from Rouen which is about 36 miles. THE HOUSE : Norman house 85m2 (915sq.ft.) restored and on the same level : LIVING ROOM with fireplace (firewood for 1 fire provided, next ones to be bought at the supermarket), a big table, armchairs and a sofa bed for 2 people. KITCHEN with oven, microwave, induction hob and dishwasher. Filter coffee machine, kettle. You will also find coffee filters, coffee, sugar, tea, oil and vinegar, salt and pepper and enough charcoal for 1 BBQ. BATHROOM with shower and toilets. TWO BEDROOMS in a railway setup. (you have to go through the middle room to get into the parents bedroom) The parents bedroom has a Queen size bed for 2 people and another sofa bed for up to 2 people and a sink. The room "in the middle" has a Queen size bed for 2 people. BIG GARDEN with table, chairs and BBQ. NO WIFI in the house. Free use of our bikes, our outdoor games,... THE ENVIRONMENT : The house is surrounded by fields and woods. Golf at 7 km. An old railway is now used as path for bikes, walks and hikes in the countryside. You will also find horses to ride. The house is located near the little town of Bernay which was founded at the 10th century and where you can see a wonderful roman Abbey Church and old houses. On Saturdays there is a big market where you can buy local products : cider, cheese, ... 5 minutes from the house is a big supermarket where you can buy food and local products. Lots of attic sales take place in the surroundings. There is also in the neighborhood a typical cottage house restaurant where you can eat local food at a good price. There are lots of castles (château du champ de Bataille, de Beaumesnil, d'Harcourt,...) and churches (Abbaye du Bec Hellouin) to discover, you can drive on the "thatched house road" or meet local producers during farm tours. You will love your stay in this house ! Single storey house. The attic is not yet furbished so there is no access to it.
