Being on a small island a beach is never far away and they're all so different, with one to suit all needs. More details are in our information book. Turn right and you're on the road to Newport, our county town, via three very nice pubs with great food and a fabulous farm shop selling all sorts of artisan deliciousness. The nearest train stations are in Shanklin and Sandown where you can travel to Ryde Pier for mainland links. We're delighted that we have 'new' trains on the island this summer. They're refurbished London Underground trains that have replaced the 80 years old previous stock. Yes, really! Honestly, nowhere is far away on the Isle of Wight and what we consider heavy traffic is laughable compared to other places. The longest journey you'll make here will only take about 40 minutes... yes, there will be tractors, there will be horses, there will be cyclists but don't fight it, just kick back and take in the views, have a sing song and enjoy the island vibe.
