Modern House next to Emerald Lake
Fantastic location at entrance to beautiful Emerald Lake Park and close to cafes. Set on over an acre with horses and sheep in nearby paddock. Three separate bedrooms, open plan living area, full kitchen, leafy balcony, double parking under house. A family friendly house with two double bedrooms and third room with single beds suitable for children. The house is set back from the street with a long driveway, the trees give privacy from passers by. The living area is very comfortable with leather couches, large flat screen TV and DVD player. There is reverse cycle air conditioning in the living area for your comfort. The east facing balcony off the living room is perfect for morning breakies and has view across the below paddock and to the hills beyond. You will find a complimentary basket of food goodies on your arrival. ( such as eggs, bacon, cereal, bread, crackers, cheese, cookies and condiments or ask for a vegetarian hamper ) The fridge has milk and some cold drinks, a few beers for those who enjoy a coldie and a bottle of wine. There is a breakfast bar with stools as well as 4 seater dining table. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped with gas oven and cooktop, microwave, small electrical appliances, utensils, serving dishes and platters for your entertaining. ( sorry no dishwasher expect your family helpers) The pull out pantry is stocked with basics for your cooking, teas and coffee or you can perculate your own roasted coffee on the stove top with the retro coffee maker ( the good old fashioned way). The buffet has games for the family such as traditional decks of cards, puzzles for all ages, the classic Twister, sports trivia and other various board games to amuse anyone not playing on a device! We think you will be very comfortable and if there is anything we can assist you with, we are close by. You have the whole front house to yourselves with double car parking underneath and another paved area next to your front door. ( room for 3 cars) You can wander over to the paddocks in front and beside your house to see the farm animals. Across the road is the Emerald lake park with free BBQ's and undercover areas. We live in separate premises a bit further back on block. We are close enough to offer assistance and have a chat but we will still respect your privacy. On arrival you will be shown around the house and your garden area. You can ask for instructions and directions to local sights and facilities. The feature attraction at your doorstep is the famous Puffing Billy steam train. You can hear the whistle and the "chugga chugga"throughout the day and see the steam above the tree tops. At several times during Autumn, Thomas the Tank Engine will visit and bookings can be made through their website for a must do with your children. The lake has plenty of ducks to watch and paddle boats for hire. Children can swim in the toddlers pool next to the lake (open during summer months) You can fish for trout in the Emerald lake as the local council stock the lake with fish especially for your pleasure. (We can provide a fishing line if you need one) Walk down the driveway and right across the road, access leafy walking tracks that take you around the Emerald lake and to Wright's forest. In the evenings there are dozens of rabbits scurrying around the tracks which is so cute for kids to see. For the adventurist you can trek to the township of Cockatoo about 10km's away. You can walk on the scenic track through the park into Emerald centre and read about local history at various posts along the way. Emerald shopping centre has a range of shops such as Fruit and Veg, Newsagency, Wine store, Pharmacy, clothing and Post office. To eat you can try the renowned Emerald Bakery, Cafe Marte and the lovely Emerald Thai Restaurant. Closer to home at the end of our street you will find the town Library, Zest Cafe Bar Restaurant, The cosy General Food store cafe and other interesting little shops. Also several takeaway shops, Pizza, Fish & chips and Asian noodles. A huge Woolworths Supermarket is just around the corner from these shops so you can buy food to cook at home and anything else that you require.( open from 7am-11pm) Pick your own blueberries in December - January ( also cherries and other berries in season) at Avonsleigh Berries a short 5 minute drive from town. Drive to the other attractions in the Dandenong ranges, there are too many to mention. The Dandenong ranges are abundant with restaurants, gift shops, gardens, walking tracks and the infamous 1000 steps- a moderate hill climb up a steep set of steps, a popular challenge for all ages. The William Ricketts Sanctuary at Mt Dandenong is a serene forest setting with 92 major clay sculptures by Rickett that show his extraordinary talent. You can also visit the Yarra Valley a 30 min drive to see dozens of wineries or try hot air ballooning over the Valley. Public Buses are a 5 min walk at corner of Royal parade and Belgrave/Gembrook road. From here you travel to Belgrave to meet main train line into Melbourne suburbs and city. There are 2 scooters & helmets and bicycles for use upon request. There are Queen size beds in each of the larger bedrooms at each end of the house with plenty of cupboard space, extra pillows and throw rugs. The third bedroom two single beds. There is also the addition of an extra mattress under the queen bed to place anywhere in the house if you wish. There is ample hanging space and chest of draws in the walk in robe. This room is also air conditioned. Please indicate if anyone is allergic to nuts (or have other anaphylaxis requirements) so we can ensure that no peanuts are in pantry foods.
