Ocean Dream B & B

Our home is located in beautiful Ohope Beach, Bay of Plenty, voted NZ's Best Beach 2021. We are located directly across from the best loved beach in New Zealand, with safe swimming from dawn to dusk. There are amazing views of White Island, NZ's only active marine volcano and Whale Island, a restricted wildlife sanctuary and uninterrupted panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. Ocean Dream B & B is in a safe, quiet and friendly community with private off street parking. We offer a Deluxe Guest Suite with two large bedrooms, a king bedroom opening onto private patio and spa area and the second room has two single beds, ideal for family or friends to share. (NB - We do not take any bookings from other guests to stay at the same time .) There is a seperate lounge and dining area and the lounge and king bedroom both have Smart TV's and Netflix. We provide a continental breakfast of toast and spreads, cereals and milk, together with a selection of teas and coffee. There is no kitchen in the guest suite, therefore definitely no cooking facility, but there is a microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster for your use, including all cutlery, dinner ware and glasses. We also have a Weber BBQ available for guests to use. Our guest suite has a seperate entry off a private deck area, with outdoor furniture for relaxing and a heated spa pool for our guests. We also have an outside hot/cold shower for rinsing off after a swim. Our laundry facility is also available on request - free of charge. We live on the property and are happy to assist you in any way. Our guest suite is a private area of our house and is all one level with parking at the door. There is a selection of cafes and restaurants in Ohope, a local supermarket, art gallery, medical centre and pharmacy and a variety of small local shops. There is an abundance of outdoor activities available including bush walks, stand-up paddle board hire, kayaks for hire and surfing lessons are also available. We can assist you with any bookings of local trips you may require. Ohope International golf course 5 mins drive. Whakatane Airport is 15 mins away and daily flights are available to and from Auckland operated by Air Chathams. Rotorua and Tauranga cities are only one hour drive away with flights to all national centres around New Zealand. Whakatane is 6km from Ohope and there is a local bus operating Monday to Saturday from Whakatane to Ohope and return approx. every hour - just wave the driver to stop outside the door. There is also a local taxi service available. A 15 min walk along the beach will bring you to Port Ohope where you can have a coffee or a glass of beer/wine at the Port Ohope General Store and watch the SUP riders on Ohiwa Harbour, then take a leisurely walk back along Harbour Road following the beautiful Ohiwa Harbour inlet. There are so many wonderful places to explore in our slice of paradise! We provide all fresh linen, including beach and spa towels.
