4 rooms in a family run B&B, located in an ancient 13th century tower. The house is surrounded by olive trees and vineyards with a peaceful garden and plenty of artworks, being home of a sculptor. Exactly on the border between Tuscany and Umbria, at 20 km from Cortona and Montepulciano, it is easily connected to Siena, Arezzo, the Orcia Valley, Pienza and Montalcino, Perugia, Orvieto. No use of the kitchen, but a home chef can be rented for traditional dinners on the tower. This B/B has 4 rooms and a sitting area on the first floor. They can be rented in exclusive use for small groups (up to 8 guests). On the ground floor, a breakfast room, a peaceful garden equipped with tables and chairs, a BBQ and a pool. The family lives in the house: the owner is a sculptor, and his art is everywhere in the house. An Italian breakfast is incuded , and on request a Tuscan breakfast with typical food of the area (local cheese, salami ,bruschetta etc..) can be booked in advance with a small extra charge. Please note there is no use of the kitchen, but tea and coffee facilities and a refrigerator are available for the guests. Traditional Tuscan dinners or buffet dinners on the tower can be organize on request, please ask in advance. The family will be pleased to show you the amazing view from the tower and will help you to book the typical trattoria which is not on the guide books yet or the small local producer where to buy Vino Nobile di Montepulciano or the best pecorino cheese. Extra services: daily cleaning, Tuscan breakfast, Tuscan dinner and aperitifs on the tower. Small events can be organized on the grounds of the property. The B&B is part of the family house, but with a private entrance and separate from the owners' apartment. The 4 rooms, all with en suite bathrooms, can be rented together to small parties (up to 8 guests), they are on the first floor and share a sitting room with art books and literature about the territory. On the ground floor the breakfast room (for the Italian breakfast included in the room rate), a large hall with a piano, and a peaceful garden for the guests to sit and relax, with a BBQ and tables and chairs to have breakfast outside. Painting room available for the guests. There is no use of the kitchen, but cortesy coffee and tea facilities are available. Breakfast is served in the breakfast room or in the garden. Traditional Tuscan dinners, apertifs or snacks can be organized in the tower, and cooking classes can be booked in a nearby agriturismo. The family lives in the house, the atmosphere is informal and relaxed, this is not a hotel! Antonella will be glad to give you information about the area, suggest the best itineraries and excursions, help you book restaurants, wine tastings or any other activities. Massimo is a sculptor and you can see him working in his workshop, and possibly carve a piece of olive wood together with him. An informal Tuscan cooking lesson followed by dinner can be organized for the group in a nearby agriturismo. A home chef can be rented for dinner on the tower. This is a very strategic location, exactly halfway between Cortona and Montepulciano, at a short drive from lake Trasimeno. Very easy to reach (18 km from A1 Rome Florence motorway exit) can be a perfect starting point for daily excursions as well as a relaxing place for some peaceful time in the countryside while on your way between Florence and Rome .
