Seaside apartment near Poo de LLanes
The apartment is located in the attractive seaside village of Poo de Llanes 2 km from the main town of Llanes on the Asturian coast sandwiched between the sea and the foothills of the Picos de Europa. The bright, modern apartment built in traditional Asturian style is only a 10 minute walk from the nearest beach. It comprises a fully fitted kitchen and living area downstairs, complete with dishwasher, washing machine and sofa bed. Upstairs, under the attic beams is the ensuite double bedroom with sea views across the tiled rooves of the village. The apartment has its own parking space. Poo de Llanes is a typical Asturian village with its old stone houses in a maze of small lanes. It has 2 bar/restaurants in the centre and 2 more at the beach, located on a sandy, sheltered inlet. There is a local shop for food shopping and an arts and craft centre which offers workshops throughout the summer. The village is well served by public transport being on the coastal train line running from Santander to Oviedo. There are also buses to Llanes and further afield. A 15 minute walk along the coastal path (part of the camino de Santiago pilgrimage route) brings you to San Martin beach, one of the 36 beaches in the Llanes region, popular with surfers. Low tide reveals a vast expanse of sand with rocky outcrops to explore. A 15 minute drive away, or about an hour on foot, lies the picturesque village of Barru with its stunningly located small church perched on the edge of the water. Neighbouring Niembru has 2 of the most beautiful beaches in the north of Spain, Toranda perfect for families and Torimbia, a short walk across the headland, a more secluded semi-circular sandy bay. To the south, half and hours’ drive away are the Picos de Europa. A national park with fantastic mountain scenery, lakes, well signposted hiking routes, horse riding and canoeing amongst other acitivites. Llanes itself has a well-preserved walled centre with impressive cliff top walk and 2 beaches. The port and old town are lined with bars, restaurants – many specializing in local seafood - and traditional Asturian cider bars offering many options for eating and entertainment. There is a vibrant weekly market and many local fiestas to enjoy throughout the year. Poo es un pueblo muy pequeño y tranquilo, el apartamento esta situado caminando como a 10 minutos de la playa de Poo y como a30 minutos de la de San Martin,LLANES esta a unos 3kms. El apartamento tiene zona de aparcamiento, de todas maneras no hay un problema por aparcar , ya que Poo es un sitio muy pequeño.En cuanto a otras formas de transporte, existe una parada de tren cercanias de la linea FEVE que enlaza Oviedo con Santander, tambien existe una parada discrecional de bus de la linea ALSA que recorre las distintas localidades de la zona.
