B&B in Twin room with en-suite near Malmesbury
Old Garden House is a recently renovated house with 2 rooms available, in the middle of the pretty village of Brokenborough, on a single track road just one mile from the ancient market town of Malmesbury. The twin room which is suitable for children or adults is cosy and comfortable with its own en-suite walk-in shower room. There are extensive views and many good walks from the house. Old Garden House is a spacious airy house with 2 rooms available, the twin room and a Kingsize room, both with en-suite facilities. The house is set back from the lane and overlooks it's pretty garden to the rear. The rooms are large and airy with fitted cupboards for hanging space and chest of drawers to store clothes, each with private en-suite bath or shower rooms. It has been recently renovated so has modern insulation which keeps the house cool in Summer, warm in Winter. There is a large family kitchen where breakfast is served, and guests may help themselves to tea and coffee. Double glazed doors lead onto the terrace where guests may sit in the Summer. Outside there is ample off-road parking. The property is well placed for visits to many attractions; Westonbirt National Arboretum, the gardens at Highgrove, events in Malmesbury and Tetbury, Polo at Westonbirt and Cirencester, motor racing at Castle Combe, Badminton Horse Trials and many more. There are many local pubs and restaurants, ask me for recommendations The room is on the 1st floor and is accessed from the main staircase. Guests are offered breakfast in the large family kitchen, which has patio doors opening onto the terrace. Guests may sit on the terrace or wander through the garden. I enjoy meeting people but am a busy artist and sculptor. I have spent most of my life in the area so please just ask if you would like any recommendations or advice on places to go, pubs and restaurants etc. We are one mile from the ancient market town of Malmesbury, well known as the home of Dyson Research and Development in the UK. The Abbey is well worth a visit, and has a memorial to King Athelstan who was based here in Malmesbury, and was the first King of Wessex, and round the corner from the Abbey are the Abbey gardens, a delight to wander round. There are musical events, concerts in the Abbey, and the WOMAD festival weekend is held in July. Many other events take place, a Kite Festival, History week-end, a visit to the Tourist Office in the Town Hall will give more information on the town and the area. Nearby there is Westonbirt Arboretum, glorious in the Spring and Autumn, lovely at all times of year, with music festivals available, and the Christmas Wonderland in December weekends, with trees lit up at night with fantastic colours. The gardens at Highgrove are nearby, and the Highgrove shop is in the middle of Tetbury, just 3 1/2 miles away. There are also many other gardens open to the public in the Summer. There is motor racing at the Castle Combe circuit, which is one of the prettiest villages in England, Polo at Westonbirt where the Princes can sometimes be found playing, and Cirencester, Golf at Westonbirt, Castle Combe and Minchinhampton, Horse Trials at Badminton and Gatcombe Park. Cirencester holds a two day Country Fair, and there are many more local attractions. There is ample off-road parking, but should guests not have their own car I am happy to pick up from the bus station in the middle of Malmesbury. We now have fast speed Wi-fi of 300 Mbps so streaming films or making Zoom calls are easy. We have dogs, 1 elderly Jack Russel terrier and 2 Salukis, so you need to be comfortable with dogs.
