Alwan el Medina

The house is located in the historic center of Tunis. It is strategically located few minutes away from the Kasbah. Alwan El Medina's home was built in two steps: first the main floor, composed by Skifa and Makhzen, had been finished by the 17th century and the first floor in the late 18th, early 19th century. The Makhzen includes high vaulted ceilings as well as many beautiful columns in granit and marble that are remnants of Roman ruins and Hafside dynasties. This property first has been restored in 2000, and still going on, in a style that keeps her soul combining comfort and modernity. The guest master suite (40m ²) is located upstairs and overlooks the patio. It includes two areas: The first area with high wood ceilings is dedicated to a large sitting place with a possibility of an extra bed or a desk. The second one is an alcove with a cozy full size bed. A nice size three piece bathroom with authentic traditional tiles is attached to the master room. The house has central heating, free cable television and free internet (WiFi). The patio (57 m²) is bright sunny and flowered where you can spend a quiet moment sipping tea or reading a book. The makhzen was dedicated to a kitchen, dinning and living area open concept. A great area when you can appreciate a gorgeous typical breakfast or share a big cup of green tea with the homeowners in a warm and friendly atmosphere. We often take breakfast with our hosts, because we truly believe that it's the best way to get to know them, share all of what we have, and advise them according to their desires. The Makhzen or the patio are the heart of the house where in the evening, we invite our guests to share a cosy moment. Need a break?! There you are, we found the best way for you to relax without having to go too far.
