Located in Saint Priest-Les-Fougères, SW France, our spacious stone character rural retreat sits in two acres of beautiful landscaped gardens including a long rose walk, avenues, and full borders. Try out our hot tub, splash pool, double jacuzzi, large games room with wood burner. Our 3 bedrooms, including a family room with a double bed & bunks, can sleep 8 guests. There are 2 TVs; a smart one in the lounge with UK Sky TV and French TV, UK box sets and 1 in the games room with 100's of films. Your rental would be exclusive and with a price that is a flat rate throughout the summer. For up to 8 people come and enjoy our fully renovated, spacious stone Périgordian house, full of character and original features, situated in the Limousin/Périgord national forest, which supports deer and a huge variety of wildlife. The local area offers: A 40 minute drive to Limoges & its airport (for car hire) and a 50 minute drive to the fascinating roman city of Périgueux. The cottage is just by a forest with lovely walks. There is a supermarket with fuel, bank and quality restaurants a short drive away. Within an hour's drive, there are picturesque, interesting, historic towns, villages and chateaux, caves with prehistoric cave paintings, a lake with beach and adventure ground and traditional local markets on most days of the week. Your own outdoor kitchen has a gas BBQ and is well equipped. Enjoy an outdoor breakfast under the pergola alongside Alison's rose-walk. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs; a double, furnished in traditional French style and the family room, which has a double bed and a pair of bunks. Both bedrooms share a large bathroom with double jacuzzi, walk-in shower, toilet & basin. Upstairs there is a third bedroom, newly developed with a rose theme, with an adjacent shower room, toilet & basin. There is a well-equipped kitchenette on the ground floor with an adjacent dining room. Our very spacious accommodation is ideal for groups of up to 8 people. This can be expanded to 10 for classes and courses, so if you are looking to host group activities, our facilities will meet your needs. Our games room is large and suitable for classes such as yoga and arts and crafts etc. You can also take part in cottage crafts on site, such as textiles, cookery and paper making, Inside you will have exclusive use of a downstairs cosy lounge with unlimited Wi-Fi and UK SkyTV & FrenchTV. Upstairs is a large games room with lounge area & TV, pool/snooker, table football, air hockey, darts and table tennis. Outside, you can enjoy peace and tranquillity; relax in the hot tub under the stars, eating al fresco with our barbecue facilities, sit in the sunshine or shade in any part of the secluded gardens. You can also cool off in the small 5m splash pool or play indoor and outdoor games that are provided. Even in the remote possibility of rain, you can cosy down by the log burner in the games room. You can also enjoy a siesta during those hot sultry afternoons in our self contained, shady chalet. There you can enjoy late evenings around the firepit Our price is a flat rate throughout the season priced per person, per night with the option of breakfast, lunch and dinner too. Alternatively, you can be self-contained and make full use of your small but well-equipped kitchenette and outdoor kitchen. A gas BBQ adds to your cooking options. The immediate neighbourhood is quiet, tranquil and private adjacent to a forest. We are 1km from our village and 7km from Jumilhac-Le-Grand, the main feature of which is a spectacular, fairytale chateau which offers guided tours. 5km away is La Coquille with a railway station, bank with cash machine, supermarket, pharmacy, tabac, fuel and good-to-excellent restaurants. Sadly, public transport in the Dordogne is rare, however, there is a station 10 minutes away in La Coquille which provides access to France's extensive rail system. Please note that we have 2 small friendly female dogs but will not accept other dogs.
