Gwynnie, Carmarthenshire
1940s split level house, period features, blend of old and new, wood/tile flooring, wood burning stoves, light and spacious with large kitchen/dining extension. Established garden. Puppy dogs/pets most welcome. Close to M4 and easy access to Gower, Swansea, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire coasts and the western Brecon Beacons. We bought the house in 2011 and it required major updating. We decided to build a modern extension outwards into the garden - this was also redesigned and landscaped - to create an open kitchen, dining and living space. It created a house in two parts; the 'old part', with cast iron radiators where the bedrooms, bathroom and reception rooms are located, and the 'new part' with modern shaker-style kitchen (along with the original pantry), underfloor heating, modern lighting and large french doors opening onto the garden. You have access to the whole property and garden with parking on the drive and under the car port out of the sun and rain. Buses are infrequent and service coverage is not great so car or bike is best to get around. Available by text, phone or via Airbnb Gorslas is a village of approximately 4000 people, but it doesn't feel like that many. The neighbours are friendly and helpful. There is a pub in the village named The Phoenix, a small convenience store and other small businesses. Crosshands, nearby, has larger retail outlets, bakery, post office, launderette, newsagent, and gas stations, as well as access to the A48 to Carmarthen, the county town and to the M4 a few miles away. Being rural, public buses are available, but infrequent.
