The Dartmoor Linhay is a light fresh property on the edge of Dartmoor that provides a perfect comfy and cosy base for visitors to explore the surrounding moorland and close by attractions. Undisturbed views of moorland and Pew Tor from the garden and balcony.Located 10 minutes from Tavistock with its pannier market, cafes and independent shops and 20 minutes from Plymouth a busy city with great shopping and plenty to see and do including the national marine aquarium. "Linhay" is an old Dartmoor word for barn this property is a newly converted section of a barn. Downstairs you can find a lounge / diner a kitchen equip with oven, microwave & fridge and a bathroom with large walk in shower. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms in the eaves of the barn one of which opens up onto a large balcony over looking the moors. Set back from a peaceful road in a quiet hamlet with easy access routes. Large mowed lawn perfect for playing games or having a barbecue. We are very dog friendly and you will be greeted on arrival by our labrador Max who is always happy to see everyone! We are delighted to have installed a woodfired hot tub at The Dartmoor Linhay!  Situated at the top of the garden with views over Pew Tor on a clear night there is no light pollution and the sky is bright and starry.  We are still getting to grips with running the hot tub so we can't promise perfection quite yet! Your first load of logs is free and each additional load after that will be £25 cash.  So pack your swimming costumes !  The Dartmoor Linhay has off road parking for two cars with a lawned garden with views over the fields to Pew Tor and beyond . The garden has Apple trees , a picnic bench and BBQ . Easy walking to Huckworthy common some five minutes and the high moorland from there . A very quiet relaxing back water within easy access to Tavistock a ancient stannery town and Horrabridge village with its facility's of a shop , bakery and two good food pubs . The Dartmoor Linhay is situated on route 27 of the National Cycling route and it's just outside the door also within minutes the moors with fantastic walking and views all around with walks such as the old railway line from Plymouth to Princetown built by prisoners from the Napoleonic war and American war of independence . The railway weives around the old granite quarries with fantastic distance view over Cornwall and Plymouth sound along the way that the Senotaph and London bridge were hewned. Bronze age settlement can be found scattered around the area all within a short distance of the Linhay . Great local pups and food. The Linhay has described by many guest as a cosy cacoon after a great day exploring the area or further away around Devon and Cornwall. The property is in a very quiet back water but in easy reach of Horrabridge and the old stannery town of Tavistock with its coffee shops , restaurants and the old open market with parts still standing of the distoyed Abbey around the town . A national heritage site. Plymouth is eight miles away , Princetown six miles along with two National Trust properties within a short distance. Things are plentiful to enjoy ,see and do locally and the Linhay is central to explore and stay .
