Charming, traditional Croatian cottage, renovated

A home with history ... a delightful traditional posavska kuca, part of Croatia's cultural heritage. Few of these cottages remain. Perfectly restored with WIFI, Netflix, etc modern bedroom, kitchen and bathrooms. Peaceful, tranquil and comfortable ... total relaxation on the terrace or in the garden. Perfect for writers struggling to find inspiration, artists or those just seeking to unwind in an unusual environment! Ideal for a family holiday. Pet-friendly. This is one of very few posavska kuca left intact in Croatia. This type of cottage is constructed entirely from huge oak beams and is built on a concrete base without any nails - the beams slot into each other. The shape of the roof, the porch, the decorative pointed wooden planks, porch, overhang and extensive covered terrace are typical of this style of architecture. We have renovated the interior and added two bedrooms and a shower room within the roof area. The cottage was originally used as the village school. Guests have access to the whole cottage, except for the cellar and the garden sheds. We will not personally be there but our gardener and cleaner live a few houses away and we are always contactable by internet and phone! You can feel stress slipping away in this cottage. Especially beautiful and inspiring is the dawn where the silence is broken only by the crowing of a rooster. I have personally done a lot of textbook writing at this time of day there. Eating outside on the covered terrace in the evening is also great fun. A car will be necessary. There are two folding bikes at the cottage which you may use. Expect some quirks and creaks from such an old and authentic cottage. Grow to love them!
