Mayfield Barn a sunny modern converted barn beside a 16th century cottage in the quiet village of Sandhurst, two miles from Gloucester, close to Cheltenham, Forest of Dean & Cotswolds; the perfect base for exploring. There's a double bedroom, super-size rain shower and small but well appointed living space - ideal for couples, small families and solo travellers, business or pleasure. Dogs welcome. Please book in, per night Extra adults £22 Children (age 3-12) £11 Dog £9 by arrangement The accommodation is close to Gloucester Cathedral where Harry Potter was filmed, and ancient Tall sailing Ships or traditional painted narrow boats (barges) can often be seen in the docks. It is a converted barn, located within the grounds of a 16th century cottage and opposite to a thatched farmhouse of the same age. Inside, you’re invited to fall into a cosy Norwegian 'snuggledown' duvet, relax in the super-size rain shower and chill out in the small but well appointed living space. And don’t stop there – step out and enjoy what the local area has to offer – open countryside, peace, dog walking space and rural tranquillity. Consisting of only one master double bedroom and an overflow spacious double sofa bed (located in the living space), the barn is ideal for a small group, those with young families and solo adventurers. Ten minutes from the M5 and 5 minutes from Gloucester, Mayfield Barn is also perfect for business travellers. 100Mbs fibre broadband is now installed. BYOD. Complimentary locally-sourced breakfast supplies are included. Well controlled pets welcome, dogs must be booked in as dog guests. Outside space in front of the barn and the sunny cottage garden, with patio and outside dining facilities. Off road parking for up to three cars, with side entrance for larger cars or Horse Boxes. I live across the lane so am accessible for questions. Children are welcome to come and see the chickens or ducks on the pond. I will see guests in and settled. I leave initial breakfast supplies but will not interrupt guests stay. Please ring if more milk is required as it is delivered during the week. There is a key box on the cottage wall for late or unattended entry if required. Arrival time please not before 1600 unless arranged, leaving time by arrangement but usually not strictly early! Has a quiet rural setting that I love but also conveniently close to Gloucester or Cheltenham for shopping and entertainment. I am cllose to the Forest of Dean and the Cotswolds and the river Severn for good experiences. Served well by the M5 and M4. The Cathedral and newly refurbished docks(The Quays) are a 'must see'. You may even see the famous Tall Ships. We have two buses a day but this is rural transport! Taxis available easily. We are on a country lane and the perimeter hedge is not totally secure for dogs or children who wander. Very rural area so good for a weekend/ few days chill - out. Gloucester is old and full of history but dont expect big city life. We are the antidote to that! There is a good selection of country pubs with dining, some on the River Severn. In February and September the Severn Bore is at its most dramatic! The named footpath, The Severn Way, follows the towpath and is half a mile from the barn on foot.
