Spacious, beautifully restored house in Flavigny

Our spacious and beautifully restored medieval house and large private garden is within the walls of the serene and picturesque heritage-listed village of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, where the film "Chocolat" was filmed. From here you can explore wineries, beautiful villages and peaceful countryside, chateaux, abbayes and museums. You can even hop on the train to Paris or explore the towns of Dijon or Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy. The house has a beautiful character and ambiance. It is suited for couples and families. The house is spacious and peaceful. The walled garden is completely private. The monastry is directly opposite and you can not only hear the prayer bells gently chiming but also the monks singing gregorian chant in the evenings. Amenities in the house include wifi, TV/DVD player, bluetooth speaker, dishwasher, stove with induction Cooktown, washing machine and dryer, and a bathroom with bathtub. And of course the house is packed with character and history such as a 12th century hand basin, a 15th century kitchen sink, and a Louis 14th front door. Upstairs are 2 spacious bedrooms sleeping a maximum of 8 people. There is a single daybed in the lounge room downstairs. The whole house and garden! Our house is a beautifully restored heritage house located within the walls of the picturesque medieval village of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain. Flavigny is officially listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France and is famed for being the setting of the film "Chocolat" starring Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp. TGV train from Paris is just 1 and a half hours to Dijon. Dijon has several car rental places. It is a 45 minute drive to Flavigny from there. Train from Zurich-Dijon is 2 hours. Nearest TGV station is Montbard (15 minute drive). The ground floor of the house is spacious and has a single sized day bed in the lounge room and guest WC off the kitchen. There is no shower downstairs. The house stays cool in summer and has wall mounted electric heaters in every room as well as two powerful wood burners for the winter. Wood is provided.
