In the centre is a village green with a pretty stream running through it. Wells-next –the –Sea is within easy reach and boasts a wide sandy beach, colourful beach huts, picturesque fishing harbour and quayside. Here you can find fresh shellfish and artisan shops, cafés, bars and restaurants. The beach here forms part of the Holkham Estate which has miles of beautiful sandy beaches. Head to Hunstanton for all the fun of the fair or to Blakeney for the popular pursuit of crabbing. Take a boat trip to see the seals, or sailing or a round of golf, try Brancaster. History buffs will enjoy a visit to Walsingham Abbey or stately homes at Holkham, Houghton and The Royal Sandringham Estate which all host a range of events throughout the year. Perfect also for nature lovers who will find a wealth of wildlife habitats, salt marshes and nature reserves including the award winning, Pensthorpe Nature Park. Visit the famous Norfolk Broads where daily boat hire and river trips are available to explore the expanse of waterways - a natural haven for birds and wildlife. Norfolk is also very dog friendly and most pubs allow well behaved dogs. Our favourites is the terrace at the White Horse at Brancaster, where you can watch the glorious sunset or the Beach Café at Wells next the Sea, which is well catered for dogs with plenty of water bowls and lots of seating either inside or out. South Creake is close to Fakenham where you can find a number of bus services to take you across Norfolk and beyond. There are some historic train routes located through Norfolk with the nearest being between Wells and Walsingham. It offers a steam train scenic journey through some wonderful quaint villages. If you enjoy walking, try the Norfolk Coastal Path that stretches from Hunstanton to Sea Palling. You can join the path at various points along the coast and can hop onto the bus for the return journey. For a keen cyclist or just for fun Norfolk is a great county to cycle in. No need to bring your bike as there are several hire companies and plenty of roads and tracks nearby to choose from. Check is from 4pm to allow for professional clean of the cottage and for the hot tub to water to be changed including time for the tub to heat up before your stay Departure is by 10am.
