Lynnfield House: Luxury Let for up to 10 people
Lynnfield is available for families and groups up to 10 people. Lynnfield House is ideally situated in "Upper Bay" with 5 bedrooms (all en suite): 1 King size, 3 double and 1 twin bedded room, with two lounges, a dining room and fully equipped kitchen to provide an ideal holiday home for family or friendship groups. One or two well behaved dogs welcome. We are close to the beach fossils and dinosaur coast plus cafes, pubs, restaurants and shops plus a range of walking and cycle routes. In 1897 William Storm, a Master Mariner, and his wife Hannah Mary Storm commissioned the building of this dwelling and named it Lynnfield. The house remained in the same family until 2011 since when it has undergone extensive refurbishment and now provides 5 bedrooms, 2 lounges, a dining room, fully equipped kitchen, patio, rear yard and outside WC. All 1st floor bedrooms have en suites and sea views . The second floor has a separate bedroom with sea views and shower room. The ground floor bedroom has full en suite facilities, twin beds and polished wood floor. Their is a ground floor lounge with wood burner and a second lounge on the second floor Many of the original features have been retained and restored such as the high ceilings with original plaster cornices, tiled hallway, wooden architraves, stairways, skirting and pine wooden flooring. Some of the original doors have been recycled to use as doors to cupboards and en-suites. The front doors and entrance hall are original and have been restored and redecorated. Within these original features modern facilities and safety requirements have been added to ensure you have a very pleasant and comfortable stay. There are steep steps up to the front door though guests with mobility problems can gain access via the back door which has one small steps up into the entrance. Guests have use of the whole house living accommodation. One parking space is available at the rear of the property - indicated by the Lynnfield sign. Three parking permits are available which provide free parking in car park opposite and the larger car park about 150 metres away. As the house is self catering and fully occupied by guests we are not available. However contact details in the event of anything going wrong are left with the Welcome Pack Robin Hood's Bay has beaches suitable for family activities including rock pooling and searching for Jet and fossils. The North York Moors is nearby with visits to Goathland for the steam trains and Grosmont for "Heartbeat" country being popular. Cycling and walking can be found in Dalby Forest and on Route 1 which passes through the bay. Whitby is a about 5 miles away and has a whole host of activities and themed weekends which are proving very popular - especially the Goth weekends. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants in the bay which offer good food and drink. There are also about 10 cafes serving coffee and snacks. Toast and Post cafe has opened recently and is proving very popular. Bands play in The Grosvenor every Tuesday and some weekends. The folk club happens every Friday evening in The Dolphin. Check The Bayfair magazine (available online and from the PO for 40p) for regular news and events. There is a car park directly opposite Lynnfield and a larger car park about 150 metres away. The X93 bus runs regularly to Whitby and Scarborough. A local taxi service operates. Trains run from Whitby to Pickering and Middlesbrough. Scarborough station runs through to York Manchester and Liverpool. All bookings are for a minimum of 3 nights. The main changeover day is Friday for weekly and 3 night weekend bookings. Midweek 3 night bookings can be taken from Monday or Tuesday. Please contact for more details.
