LA TERRASSE DES CLIMATS: In the historical center of Beaune, between Place Carnot, the Halles and opposite the famous Hospices, "La Terrasse des Climats", admirably situated, welcomes you to explore the Capital of Burgundy Wines, as well as to enjoy its cultural, oenological and fine Cuisine treasures. Beautifully located, with its unique view over the rooftops of the town, "La Terrasse des Climats" offers two charming self-catering apartments built on the rooftop terrace of an old french brasserie. The terrace measures 40m², and offers a splendid view on the roofs of Beaune. APARTMENT "THE VERANDA": Directly accessible by lift, this apartment of 70 m² has a large, fully equipped kitchen that opens onto the living room. It also features a comfortable glass roof (veranda in french). It offers two double bedrooms (with 160 cm beds ), and an extra bed for one person is also available. Bathroom with shower and separate toilet room, all accessible for people that have reduced mobility. APARTMENT "THE DUPLEX": On the top floor, accessible by lift and then a private staircase, this duplex of 50 m² has a living room with a fully equipped kitchen, a sitting area (sofa that can turn into a 140 cm bed) and a private terrace of 20m². Top floor of the duplex, in the attic area : large suite with a 180 cm bed and a shower room. BEAUNE: From La Terrasse des Climats, in the historic center of Beaune, go by foot to discover this beautiful city of art. Start with the famous Hospices, with beautiful roofs with glazed tiles. Founded in 1443 and known worldwide for the prestigious charity auction organized in November, the Hospices is the soul of the city. Do not miss the remarkable Collegiale Notre Dame or the spectacular Hotel of the Dukes of Burgundy and its Wine Museum. And above all, stroll on the ramparts, soak up the ambience and the art of living because Beaune is savored like a fine wine ! The market is held just below the apartments every Saturday morning. THE CLIMATS OF BURGUNDY: The word "Climats" has been part of the history of the country for several centuries. It means the parcels of vines that are usually bordered by walls. The enchanting names of some Climats of Burgundy vineyards date from the Middle Age: Les Toppes Coiffées, Les Ouches, Les Criots, Les Chaumes, Les Epenots, Les Beaux-Bruns , and Les Charmes-Chambertins, the favorite wine of Napoleon. On July 4th 2015, the World Heritage Committee added the Climats of Burgundy to the UNESCO World Heritage List. From our terrace, we were stunned by the panoramic view over the rooftops of Beaune and incredible visual resemblance of the vineyards parcels. They have the same mosaic of colors, same flowing lines, same imperfections ... even the chimneys and the windows look like winemakers 'cabotes', little cabins that were once used as shelters! All these details are what makes the "Climats of the vineyards of Burgundy". This definitely convinced us to name our place "La Terrasse des Climats".
