Countryside retreat
My Husband and I moved to Herefordshire in late 2019 and we love it here. The property is surrounded by farming countryside and yet is just a few minutes in to Leominster & with easy access to beautiful towns all around. A fully self-contained 2 bedroom cottage which is attached to the main house. A fantastic place from which to explore. We are just off the old Hereford Road with plenty of parking. Cows and sheep roam the fields around us, and there are cowsheds behind us for Winter use. Guests have a private entrance to the Cottage and there are security lights and a key safe should you need to arrive at night. Up a single flight of stairs in the Cottage is a large en suite bedroom with king size bed and with countryside views to the South. Downstairs is a room with 2 single beds which can be properly joined to make a super king sized bed. This room will be configured for 2 singles unless we are advised otherwise at time of booking. There's a large wet room downstairs adjacent to the fully fitted kitchen. There are two sofas in the open plan dining room/ lounge area and a laptop-friendly workspace. There is a large TV, dvd player (with an eclectic mix of dvds), an Amazon Firestick providing access to iPlayer, Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube et al and "country-speed" internet. Breakfast items will be in the kitchen for your arrival. In an emergency or for extended stays we can make a washing machine and drier available. There is a garden which we are more than happy for Guests to utilise. I provide a complimentary starter pack of milk, tea, coffee, biscuits and a selection of breakfast items. Typically somebody will be on site to welcome guests, but there is a secure box from which to retrieve a key should that be necessary. My Husband and I live in Broadward Lodge which adjoins the Cottage, so generally someone will be available should there be any issues. In an emergency we are easily contactable via mobiles or simply knock on the door. We will be pleased to assist. Broadward is a lovely rural area with plenty of beautiful walks - with or without pets - and without the need to get in the car. But a 3 minute drive away is the bustling centre of Leominster famed for its antique shops and the start of The Black and White Trail. There are pubs, restaurants, local shops, supermarkets, golf courses, 10 pin bowling, a beautiful Priory with a fascinating Ducking Stool, a small Friday Farmers' Market and much more besides. Traffic is simply not an issue in this part of the world. Leominster is a nice place to visit but it is also the "hub" for several other beautiful places to go and see: Leominster is 20 minutes north of the historic City of Hereford, 20 minutes South of beautiful Ludlow, 35 minutes East of the "Town of Books" (Hay-on-Wye) and 30 or 40 minutes from delightful Ledbury and Ross-on-Wye respectively. But en route to these great places are countless smaller but no less interesting and quirky stop off points. We are also a stone's throw from the Welsh Marches and a number of National Trust properties. If paddling on, strolling alongside, fishing in or boat trips on rivers is your thing then we have the Wye, the Teme, the Lugge and the Arrows. In the Cottage we have a file with plenty of suggestions for the explorers amongst you.
