Bredon Hill View Woodland Retreat
Our two bedroom, self contained safari tent accommodates 4 guests, located in a woodland setting on beautiful May Hill. The tent enjoys an expansive view over the Severn vale over to Bredon Hill in the Cotswolds. Our site is a short walk from the summit of May Hill and backs onto extensive ancient woodlands, providing a unique, tranquil and secluded woodland retreat close to the Forest of Dean and Wye valley. Your host will meet you on site and show you to your tent. The hosts live in the house adjoining the site, and are available if you need anything. However you will be left alone for the remainder of your stay if you don't. The tent is located in a very private setting, within the grounds of the an old, eighteenth century stone farmhouse on Folly lane, May Hill. It is nestled in woodland but enjoys expansive views over an idyllic countryside setting of fields and woodlands across Gloucester and the Cotswolds beyond. It is a quiet and secluded setting, but the neighbours enjoy the tranquility too so noisy parties are not suited to this site! It is also a rural location, so guests may experience the noise of farm machinery from the neighbouring property during the day. The site is conveniently located not far off the A40 between Gloucester and Ross-on-Wye. It is easily accessible by car, but the closest bus stop is in the village of Huntley (lifts can be arranged from here if you are travelling without a car). It is an easy walk to get up to the summit of May Hill, which will take around 20 minutes by foot. There is extensive woodlands directly behind the tent site, which can be accessed via a network of public footpaths. The closest shop is Huntley garage on the A40, which has all the basics and is a 5 minutes (2.3 miles) drive from the site. The closest small supermarket is in nearby market town Newent, which is a 10 minute drive from the site (4.2 miles). Nearby attractions include the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean, which contain a wide variety of fun opportunities like walking trails, kayaking, canoeing, cycling and endless special places to discover.
