Cody's Rest - An Incredible Victorian Experience

Cody's Rest fits that maxim: you climb a long set of stairs onto a large deck facing north, where you can sit when the weather suits you. Open the apartment door and take time to catch your breath: the apartment has been salvaged, repaired, cleaned, furnished, and modernized into one of the most remarkable Airbnb's we've even seen. A first view admires the spaciousness, room after room, and a quick tour discovers everything you could ask for and then some. You learn the history of the building, one of the oldest in Kansas, and relax amid period furnishings and an astonishing display of prints and posters on the walls that reflect Leavenworth's frontier beginnings, with heavy emphasis on Buffalo Bill Cody. Custer has a photo. The location is in Leavenworth is great: just a few blocks from the main gate to Fort Leavenworth, and only steps to downtown with its shops, banks, bars, and cafes. Leavenworth has plenty to recommend it as weekend getaway or base for the short trip to KU events. It has a private parking space at the base of the stairs. Highly recommended, but you have to be able to climb stairs." The entire apartment which has not only three bedrooms, but a formal parlor, a dining room, kitchen and laundry. I have a photography studio on the first floor and am available during business hours which includes Saturdays. I believe it is important to allow my guest their privacy. Cody's Rest is located in the heart of beautiful downtown Leavenworth. It's two minute walk to the numerous and outstanding restaurants, shops, theater, and post office. And after 10 pm it is pretty quiet. Fort Leavenworth is five minutes away. High speed internet access is available at no charge. Thermostat is equipped with Amazon Alexa. There is off-street parking behind the building as well as in the City Hall parking lot next to the building. There is a washing machine and dryer for guest to use. In the front parlor there is a big screen television with Netflix available, sorry no cable. If you like to wake up in the morning to a cup of fresh brewed coffee, the coffee maker is in the kitchen.
