The best of both worlds....situated high on Mt Maclean is our spacious, stylish and impeccably clean 2 bedroom apartment. Close to the Yamba beaches, surrounding national parks, cafes, brewery and nearby villages, your private residence includes expansive views stretching across vast cane fields and the mighty Clarence River. Relax and re-energise, after your 2 minute departure from the Pacific Highway, in peaceful surrounds. All the comforts of home and more!! We provide a modern kitchen for you to use to start your day with complimentary continental breakfast goodies, including a wide variety of teas, and coffees, as well as juice, bread for toast, farm fresh local eggs, condiments, cereals and fruits ( seasonal dependancy). Now you have boosted your energy levels, it's time to journey a few kilometres to the stunning Maclean Lookout, just a 15 minute walk or short drive. From this advantage point you can plot your next outing with vistas of the striking Harwood Bridge which stretches over the mighty Clarence (ideal for fishing, boating, canoeing, etc). Let your eye continue on its way to the expansive coast line of Iluka (great for bush walking through the world heritage listed Iluka Nature Reserve) and Yamba's majestic Norfolk Pines, surf beaches, cafes, shops, and Angourie (best surfing break in the world!!!). You really can't miss the huge salt waters of Lake Wooloweyah and the pristine bush wilderness of the Yuraygir National Park before the quaint village of Booms Head makes its appearance. All attractions are a short 20 minute or so drive. Not to be missed, as you head down the lookout hill, the incredible expansive views of the junction of the south and north arms of the Clarence greet you. Here the Scottish township of Maclean unfolds on the river bank, with a variety of shops, clubs and cafes to enjoy. Drive onto Woodford Island (viewed from your deck) for golf, fishing or through the cane fields after crossing McFarlane Bridge (opened 1906), turn left for Brushgrove Pub/Cowper Art Gallery to rejoin the Pacific Highway for Ulmarra Arts, Crafts and old wares then onto the jacaranda town of Grafton. Alternatively, drive straight ahead from McFarlane Bridge to the Lawrence ferry (a journey from a bygone era awaits) then onto Grafton or Casino/Lismore. For those not wanting to venture too far from our luxurious bnb, relax on the deck with a chilled beer or wine and soak up the amazing view. Read a book, play one our our board games, cards or puzzle books. Perhaps use our complimentary WiFi to research that unique place to enjoy lunch or dinner.... simply chill and be amazed as you witness the spectacular sight of a cane field erupting before your very eyes (all licensed and controlled by the registered growers). Finally, take a hot shower and pamper yourself with our wide range of complimentary bathroom products before slipping into one of our Eco-Down-under robes as you relax within your own comfortable leather lounges and wide screen TV. Simply it's your space to enjoy!!! Our queen and double bedrooms are well appointed with more Eco-Down-Under cotton linen. Nestle down for the best night's sleep you'll have in ages. Ceiling fans are situated in both bedrooms, however air-conditioning is provided should it be necessary! Helen and I enjoy a glass of vino in the cool summer breeze on our decks with our friendly cocker-spaniel dog, Bentley! Perhaps, your preference is privacy in the beautiful terraced garden rooms, including a fire pit (under our direction and supervision only) or a quiet BBQ with your own Weber BBQ. The choice is yours! It can't be all down time at "the view, Maclean" ... so, venture to some of our fav spots....Boterro Cafe for breakfast or lunch, river walk from the historic Court House to SPAR Supermarket, Maclean Hot Bread and Cake Kitchen for the best old fashion cakes and buns, Ta'Chele Australis for casual clothing and swim wear or hire a canoe at Maclean-Lower Clarence Outdoor.
