The ranch is great for traveling medical staff and other employees wanting to unwind in a relaxing home environment. Experience living on a ranch that has been acknowledged by North Carolina conservation department for its inovative preservation projects. Pets are not allowed because of the wildlife. Numerous hiking trails, special spots to just relax, and enjoy Mother Nature. Sit on the porch, relax, and allow yourself to be transported back into a simpler time. Three bedrooms, with private bathrooms. One room was designed to insure secretive transactions during prohibition. Great bedroom for those wanting complete privacy. The kitchen, dining, and living room has an open flow where distilled spirits, dancing and social activities occurred in freewheeling integrated culture “Jump Joints” of the roaring 1920’s. Updated with modern day conveniences. The original house was built about 1915 and restored in 2015 by the present owner. No Pets! The 1920s was the first decade to have a nickname: “Roaring 20s" or "Jazz Age." It was a decade of prosperity and dissipation, and of jazz bands, bootleggers, raccoon coats, bathtub gin, flappers, flagpole sitters, bootleggers, gangsters, the underground economy of spirts, dancing, and flappers. It was mainly women who ran the Jump Joints” in our rural southeastern community. These business women defied North Carolina state law of segregation by race; selling homemade spirits, beer, wine, and gambling. There was no charge for the dancing. The women were free-market capitalist who ran an underground economy that defied segregation laws. These business women were motivated to take care of their family financially and interested in providing an environment for a good time for those willing to pay. These “Bootlegging Capitalist” woman, were the early leaders of racial tolerance, social economic class, and gender equality. It’s not surprising the democrats and republicans lagged behind in these area for decades. They focused their financial resources on promoting lawsoutlawing the sell of liquor, interracial marriage, and integrated public education and business. The home has 3 bedrooms and private bathrooms. It has a nice kitchen, living room, dining room, and fireplace. There is a large back porch with a bar and pond in the backyard. The house is less than 5 minutes from Interstate 95. Close to restaurants, shopping and Southeastern Regional Medical Center. Guests have access to the over 500 acres of ranch life. Available for any questions about the ranch, however, we will respect every guest's privacy. Safe and clean. Easy access to I 95 and good dining. Unique opportunity to enjoy nature, ranch life and rest. No more than 5 guest.
