The Gîte is a beautiful open plan space. The double bedroom sits above on the mezzanine level and there are also two single beds in a compact room through the main bedroom area. Perfect for 2 couples. The gîte has an open plan living room on the ground floor with a bathroom. A narrow spiral staircase leads up to the mezzanine double bedroom. The well-equipped kitchen includes a hob, fan oven, fridge-freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Please note: the spiral staircase is quite narrow and steep. An original beam (height: 140cm) crosses the room as in the photo - Watch out for your head! You are welcome to take advantage of the many hidden places in our gardens to dine, enjoy a glass of wine, read a book and have a coffee and relax in general. We provide sun loungers by the pool. The pool is available April to September. One of us will always be home and ready to welcome you. James speaks English and French while David speaks English. If you have any questions during your stay, we'll always be here to help. Challignac - A very small, quiet village is within walking distance. The village is surrounded by vineyards and in June and July you can enjoy the beauty of the sunflower fields. Barbezieux-Saint-Hilaire - 10 minutes by car. Shopping, restaurants, cafes and a large supermarket. A beautiful and historic town with a market twice a week. Angoulême - 30 minutes by car (Angoulême to Bordeaux by train 1 hour). Cognac - 30 minutes by car. Superb shopping. Shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Angoulême, the TGV provides fast connections to Bordeaux and Paris. Challignac is just 10 minutes south of the N10 motorway. Bordeaux airport is 1 hour and 10 minutes south. There are many car rental options. A parking space is allocated to the gîte.
