"Inspected & Selected by Sawday's - A Special Place To Stay" Lovely country farm house on the Wills Estate overlooking Blagdon Lake. The house sits in half an acre of grounds just behind Coombe Lodge on a quiet country lane. The decor is a blend of antiques, contemporary furnishings and a variety of wall art. Goose Down bedding and lovely linens, with a great breakfast to complete your stay. Our aim is a touch of luxury! Please note there are other rooms available listed separately on Airbnb. Ideal for weekends away or for guests attending weddings at Coombe Lodge and Aldwick Court Farm. Or for walking and exploring our beautiful countryside. The decor and homeliness are very much part of the attraction and your comfort and experience are very important. The gardens are lovely to sit in, and on warm days you are welcome to have your breakfast served outside overlooking the lake. There is plenty of parking. We have an abundance of wild life here, and you will often see tawny owls, woodpeckers and birds of prey in the garden. Please be aware that there is a charming but excitable blind jack Russel terrier, and two Burmese (with character) cats also living here. Coombe Lodge Farm House B&B has been inspected and listed with Sawday's. Guests have access to the sitting room, dining room, parking and gardens. Jenny will be delighted to assist with your needs for a great experience during your stay. Sight seeing, where to eat, walk and visit, etc Blagdon is truly stunning when the sun is shining on our beautiful lake and hilltops. Walking is a delight with public footpaths in every direction taking you through open common land, woodland, the lake and of course the Mendip hills. Our many traditional pubs have wonderful charm, and can easily be included in your walking itinerary. If walking is not your 'bag', we have a good selection of pubs and restaurants, within 5-10 mins walk, and many are listed in the Michelin Guide. In terms of things to do, there is the local Aldwick Court Winery and Vineyard, Cheddar Gorge, Fishing on Blagdon Lake, Sailing on Chew Valley Lake, Tyntesfield Estate, Yeo Valley Family Farm, amongst other things. We also have a number of festivals, particularly Priddy festival, Glastonbury festival, as well as many local wine and food days. Frome show is also well known for its cheese. Bristol and Bath are 30 mins drive. The airport is 10 mins drive, and there is a Bus stop in Blagdon village 5-10 mins walk. There are local taxi services. There is a downstairs double room which I do allow dogs, as it has its own separate access to the garden. There is a maximum 2 room booking policy at any one time.
