A beautiful fully self-catered secluded hideaway cottage for up to four people. Set about a mile outside the village of Lamlash, guests can enjoy access to the eight-acre smallholding which includes mature woodland, and that goes right down to the sea. Choose either central heating or fire up the wood burning stove for that proper cottage experience. Dedicated car parking for one car. Both the hosts, Tim and Josephine are professional artists and will afford a warm welcome.Pets by arrangement. Both hosts are happy, by appointment, to allow guests to visit their studio adjacent to the cottage. Advice can be given in person as to local attractions opportunities,e.g fishing, kayaking, tennis, walking, swimming, sight-seeing, eating out, local music etc. Tim and Josephine live in the main farmhouse adjoining the cottage and are resident all the time and can be consulted round the clock. the neighborhood of Gortonallister is set about a mile from the busy village of Lamlash which has several good restaurants and coffee shops. Particularly recommended is the Old Pier Cafe and its home baking. The Pierhead tavern is the local pub and is known for regular live music. There is an active village life with fairs and activities depending on the time of year. The high school includes a Community Theatre and a comprehensively equipped gym open to the public along with badminton/indoor tennis courts. Reliable public transport stops at the lay-by at the top of the 100 metre-long farm track. This bus transport can take you to any corner of the island for the fabulous archaeology( standing stones) or bird/otter spotting, or historic castle sites or hill walking. Arran has several challenging hill routes. Ideal for mountain or road bikes, sea-kayaking or yachting/boating of all sorts.
