A large, open wardrobe provides ample space for luggage and clothes, with plenty of coat hangers. Double aspect French doors, on either side of the seating area, allow either a courtyard view or one of the garden and pool. I am always here to greet new guests and welcome them to Chawton House East. CHE is my home, but it is of a scale and design that allows for guests to have privacy if they wish. Guests are welcome to dine with me on the villa veranda, or arrangements can be made for private dining. Breakfast is included in the fare. Other meals available at reasonable cost on request. Morning and afternoon teas are complimentary. CHE is BYO - wines and spirits can be purchased locally and Duty Free is usually a must. Chawton House East is on the edge of a very large and undulating local village and is surrounded by jungle. The bird life is wonderful and there are native animals about. The beaches are close, as is the local temple! For local journeys I use a tuktuk. To the local Talalla Beach is costs LKR 500/-. For longer trips, a car or a van can easily be arranged. There are two friendly house dogs, Keju and Handaya, who also guard the property. The cat, Kalu, is very affectionate!
