Hopalong’s Hideaway

Come stay in Hopalong Cassidy's original mountain getaway built in the 1930's. This cabin is spacious, romantic, cozy, and full of artistic character. Enjoy the quiet town of Forest Falls and the hiking opportunities in the San Gorgonio wilderness. Forest Falls is just off HWY 38 and is about 45 minutes away from Big Bear. It is a small, quiet town with many beautiful hiking trails and access to Big Falls, a year round waterfall. Although roads are usually clear, be prepared with chains or 4WD in case of winter storms. Please bring a bundle or two of wood for the wood stove. The Elkhorn market sells bundles for $5 and is walking distance from my cabin. The wood stove is the heat source for my cabin and it is very efficient. I will supply enough wood to get started but please bring some of your own. There is also an electric heater in the master bedroom and an electric blanket. The patio has great mountain views of San Bernardino Peak and San Grogonio, and there is a propane BBQ and patio furniture. Feel free to play the piano, listen to records, play games and make use of the kitchen and appliances. This house is artsy and creative, so please enjoy it. You will have full access to the house. Please park in the driveway only. I am available by phone and will respond as quick as I can My cabin is walking distance from the town center which has a Mexican restaurant and a market. Vivian Creek And Momyer hiking trails are also nearby. Forest Falls is the gateway to San Grogornio Peak, the highest peak in southern CA! Please be respectful of the neighbors and try to be quiet after 10 pm. I have porch lights and ask to shut those off at night so that the lights do not disturb the neighbors. Cell Service: Verizon works, AT&T does not. I have WiFi so you can use calling apps if you have AT&T. Please be cautious with the garbage disposal. We are on septic up here in the mountains. No potato skins! Please do not put the trash outside. The cleaner will remove the trash. Thanks !
