(Myself + ALL guests. ) Continental help-yourself breakfast - cereals, bread, yogurt, fruit. Friendly DOG who likes to interact with guests! C2C start 2 miles away downhill! Parking in laybys. Ennerdale Lake 9 miles, Loweswater 10 miles, Buttermere 20 miles, Wastwater (Scafell Pike) 20 miles. ONE dog only; ask first Cheaper than a bunk in a hostel! - An Airbnb in the spirit of the early days, rather than the traditional British B&B. Now with superfast broadband - BT Complete WiFi My border collie (dog) has access to the whole of the downstairs. The laybys either side of the house hold about 7 cars, and as neighbours have garages, there is not normally any problem finding somewhere to park. Guests have access to the kitchen, in which you are welcome to use the cooker, microwave, and a bit of fridge space. - 30 min meals please,(light cooking), no 3 hour cooking marathons ! You may eat in the kitchen, or dining room, or your bedroom. (The living room is not available, cos that is my private space.) Please be aware that the bathroom is shared with all who live in the house - myself, other Airbnbers & on occasions, Mon- Fri lodgers. I'm always happy to chat about the Lake District and local coastal walks, and help in any way I can during your stay. Semi-rural location 2 miles uphill from Whitehaven town centre. VERY close to Rosehill Theatre & The Green Room restaurant (Expensive!) - a 2-3 minute walk away, (300m). Food outlets: Whitehaven Golf club just under a mile. Budget Brewer's Fayre restaurant about a mile away at Howgate. 'Sunny Hill' pub 1 mile away on Victoria Road. Pubs, restaurants, cafes, takeaways, Tesco, Morrison's, Aldi, Asda all in Whitehaven town centre, 1 &3/4 - 2 miles away. Some lovely short walks available from the house,including open fields with panoramic sea views across the Solway to Scotland, and a local bluebell wood. Coast path and of course the Lake District! I'm happy to collect visitors from Whitehaven or Parton station, and of course drop you off again after your stay! I'd be willing to drop off/pick up from the start of the walking Coast to Coast at St Bees, 6 miles away, for a small charge.
