Our holiday house is close to one of the most beautiful beaches of Sri Lanka, about 170 km from Colombo. It was designed ideally for a couple wishing to enjoy a relaxing vacation. In the house you will find a comfortable king size bed with mosquito net, a shower with hot and cold water and separate WC . We add a fully equipped American kitchen if you wish to cook your self. You should visit the top of the property, where you can admire the breathtaking view of the ocean and the nearby peninsulas, and some pretty spectacular sunsets. If you take a walk in the property, you will probably be able to observe the local fauna : tropical birds (peacocks, woodpeckers, kingfishers, sea-eagles...), monkeys playing in the Tamarind tree. After sunset, stars and fireflies will always be there to enlighten your nights... The Little House also features an outdoor table and chairs, for privet dining or just to relax, stargaze, read a good book, or to simply meditate with the natural surroundings around you. We offer free Internet access up in the restaurant area if you choose to get connected...or some limited internet in the house. If you choose not to cook, “Fresh” is our in-house restaurant in Little Tamarind, focus on fresh, local ingredients. Alternatively, if you wish to have delicious meals prepared specially for you, our in-house chef will be more than happy to prepare scrumptious dishes. We source our fresh fruits and vegetables from the local Tangalle market while our fresh fish and seafood are sourced from the villages nearby. Daily breakfast could also be served at the Little House for an extra charge. If you wish to do some food shopping, the local supermarket is only 4 km away, which is about 7 minutes by Tuk-tuk. A large, weekly market also occurs at the town, where you can shop for mouthwatering local fruit and vegetables and everything under the sun. Our lovely vacation House called “Little House” is located in the heart of one of Tangalle's fishermen's village. It is quite far from the hustle and bustle of the town center, but still near enough to local amenities. There are two main beaches in close proximity, which are the famous [yet not crowded] Silent Beach and the Fishermen's Bay, which is also a great wave surfing spot. Silent Beach is more known and considered to be one of Sri Lanka's most beautiful. However, in some seasons, the seas can be too rough for swimming or lounging around, making Fishermen's Bay a safer option during these instances. The latter is also more quiet. Both beaches are just a short 4 minutes walk away from our holiday place. Yoga deck, ocean view bar and restaurant, breeze hang out sitting places in Little Tamarind etc. I am spending half my time in Little Tamarind - but even when I am away we have a great team of people that will take good care of you. The people at Tangalle are very friendly, so there's no need to worry about going around. Children will naturally say hello to strangers and villagers will be more than happy to help you if you ask for their assistance. Sri Lankans are quite conservative so please always wrap a towel around you when you head to the beach. The fastest and easiest way to get around is to take a taxi from the airport. Via the expressway, the drive is only about 3 hours to reach Tangalle and our place. The taxi fare varies, but typically costs around 16,000 rs. We are 4km west of Tangalle on Galle Road. free Wifi is avilable on the public space which are 1 min [climb a bit ] up the hill.
