Glentruan Holiday Cottage

Glentruan is tucked away in a quiet hamlet near the coast at Crackington Haven. The cottage has light & airy spaces to relax with stunning views over the surrounding countryside. There is a large garden where you can enjoy the peace & quiet with a cuppa or something stronger! If you're looking for a peaceful & relaxing break then take a look at Glentruan holiday cottage Originally a farm cottage, the main part of the house is over 200 years old and was completely renovated, with a large modern extension added in 2010 to a very high standard. Timber A frames and local rag slate complete the effect resulting in an eco-friendly building enjoying solar power and all modern amenities, that blends superbly with its natural surroundings. Glentruan has a very traditional cottage appearance from the outside, but inside you will find a stylish and spacious open plan living space which blends old and new effortlessly. The large modern kitchen area is well equipped and includes a built in double oven, 5 burner gas hob, large fridge and dishwasher. The dining area has a broad oak table with seating for 6, the floor to ceiling windows give outstanding views overlooking the garden and valley. There are also french doors onto the patio and garden beyond - a perfect sun trap for that morning cuppa! In the utility area you will find a washing machine and upright freezer. The spacious downstairs living area has a wood burning stove and double french doors leading to a sheltered courtyard garden with seating and barbeque. The ground floor bedroom has two single beds and easy access to the ground floor bathroom, with WC, basin and luxurious walk in shower. Chunky open tread oak stairs lead you to the main living room with vaulted ceiling and A frames, solid oak flooring and fabulous view over the valley to the Atlantic Ocean beyond. There is plenty of space and comfy sofas to enjoy a good book or film or just enjoy the view. The master bedroom has lots of character with its original A frames, king size bed and plenty of space for travel cot if required. The twin room has 2 single beds (PLEASE NOTE ONE OF THE BEDS IS ONLY 3/4 LENGTH SO SUITABLE FOR A CHILD UP TO APPROXIMATELY 10/12 YEARS OLD) The family bathroom has WC, large modern sink and bath with shower over. Whilst Glentruan is let I stay in the lodge next door, so am on hand if you have any questions etc.. I always try to meet and greet guests on their arrival, if this isn't convenient for either party I will message guests with instructions on collecting key. Glentruan is a delightful detached self catering cottage nestling within a superb two acre plot with breathtaking panoramic views of the countryside and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. Located in the small and peaceful hamlet of Pencuke about a mile and a half from the coast at Crackington Haven, a designated Area of Outstanding Beauty (ANOB). Located within approximately an hours drive of Exeter between Boscastle and Bude, one mile from the Atlantic Highway (A39). An ideal location to explore the North Coast of Cornwall, North Devon and beyond. A car is recommended and there is parking for 2 cars directly outside the cottage. The nearest bus stop is approx a 20 min walk. PLS NOTE ONE OF THE SINGLE BEDS IS ONLY SUITABLE FOR A CHILD UP TO APPROX 10/12 For 2 night bookings I do not provide towels other than a hand towel in each bathroom.
