Cosy Cockermouth Cottage
New for 2021! Our cosy grade II listed Georgian character cottage is nestled in a quiet gated courtyard in Cockermouth’s old town, just a stone’s throw from the town’s many attractions and independent shops, bars and restaurants. The cottage is newly furnished and well equipped, with everything you’ll need for your stay in this gorgeous part of the country. Located in the heart of Cockermouth’s conservation area, the comfortable cottage sleeps up to four people and features an open plan living/dining area, modern kitchen, two characterful bedrooms and a bathroom. Many original features have been preserved, including attractive exposed stonework in the hallway and exposed woodwork in both bedrooms. Cockermouth itself is an ideal base for a visit to the Lake District National Park. Nestled on the edge of the park, the beautiful and historic ‘Gem Town’ has all the charm and amenities, without the tourist crowds of neighbouring towns. The living room is furnished with a comfy sofa and armchair. The TV is a smart TV with access to Netflix, Amazon video etc (own accounts needed) and also has a DVD player. There is a good supply of DVDs, books and boardgames to keep you entertained on a rainy day or cosy night in after a busy day of exploring! There’s also a dining table for meals, with seating for 4. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything that you’ll need to prepare meals during your stay. It has an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer microwave, kettle, toaster and washing machine. Ground coffee is also provided. There are 2 bedrooms, one double and one twin. Both have stunning original exposed wood and brickwork around the windows and look out over the Kirkgate Centre and All Saints Church. The bathroom has a bath with mixer tap and shower attachment, with an electric shower over it. Outside Please note that as is fairly standard in this area, the cottage does not have a private garden, but there is a good outside seating area on common land accessed through the courtyard. This looks out onto All Saints Church and the Kirkgate Centre – a perfect spot for enjoying a glass of wine and watching the world go by!
