Pondside Country Mill Lodge

Mill Lodge is a spacious and light mill cottage set in 8 acres of secluded grounds in mid Devon. This two bed property has been recently renovated with modern amenities and underfloor heating throughout. It sleeps 4 people comfortably in two bedrooms, perfect for a small family getaway. The upside down layout of the cottage makes the most of the views and the large kitchen/lounge area is light and airy making it perfect for socialising. Mill Lodge is located on the Selgars Mill estate and over looks the large mill pond on one side and the old mill house on the other. The stone steps to the cottage lead to an impressive large open plan kitchen, dining and living area which is very light and spacious with beautiful exposed beams. The lounge area has a cosy feel with a corner sofa, TV and a wood burning stove. There is a 'service door' on the end side of the cottage which adjoins to the next cottage but is locked at all times. Sound can travel through the cottages so it is not appropriate for a late night party venue. A wooden staircase takes you downstairs to the two large bedrooms. Herringbone brick floor gives the authentic feel to the bedrooms but with the extra benefit of underfloor heating with individual thermostats in each room. Bedroom one has a queen sized bed with twin beds in the second bedroom. There is a travel cot and high chair on request. The bathroom is tastefully decorated and has a new white bathroom suite including a bath and shower. With the ongoing global pandemic, the safety of our guests and staff remains our highest priority. Parties and events are not allowed. You’ll have shared access to the full 8 acre site: a woodland fire pit, millpond with a rowing boat and surrounding waterways, permaculture gardens, and beautiful meadows. There’s lots of room to explore, play games and enjoy the incredible diversity of wildlife we have on site. Selgars Mill has a strict site- wide vegetarian policy which extends to no meat or fish to be cooked or consumed indoors or outside . This is an ethical decision and is not flexible. Check-in is from 4pm and check out time is 11am , these need to be kept to as we have a same day turnaround for bookings. Staff live on site and Site and Centre Manager are available on site for any problem or issues . In accordance with Covid 19 guidance contact for check in will be kept to a minimum. It is a beautiful peaceful place with sprawling gardens, including a permaculture vegetable garden, and woodland . There are other rental properties on site so access to the outside areas are shared with other guests.
