Ennerdale View

A lovely light three bedroom house situated in the western Lake District with great views over Dent fell and the mountains at the head of Ennerdale valley. The property is only a 15 minute drive away from the lovely beach at St Bees. The house is situated in a short row of houses. Access can be gained from either the front or rear. Guests can park at the front of the house (this is on a first come first serve basis). There is also parking to the rear of the property. The house is set over three floors. On the ground floor there is a large, light and well equipped kitchen with access to a pretty garden with two small seating areas. Also on the ground floor is a cosy lounge/dining room which has a large Smart TV and DVD player with a selection or DVD's. There are also lots of books and maps with information covering the whole of the Lake District. There is also a selection of family games. On the first floor there is a bathroom and one large bright bedroom with a double bed. On the second floor there are two further bedrooms. Bedroom 2 has a double bed. It also has amazing views over Dent fell and the mountains at the head of the Ennerdale valley. Bedroom 3 has two single beds. It also has a roof light window which is great for doing some star gazing. The house is great for cyclists as the coast to coast cycle track passes right at the back of the house. It is also ideal for walkers and families with children and dogs. It is also an ideal location for people working nearby at Sellafield, Whitehaven and Workington. Entry is via a locked key safe at the front of the property. The code will be given to you before your day of travel. Guests will be able to access the whole house, except for two locked cupboards which are for the use of the cleaners and our family. Our property is located in the small town of Cleator Moor which has two supermarkets and a petrol station. It is in an ideal location as it is 1 mile from the edge of the National Park and 6 miles from St. Bees which has a lovely beach. This is also the start of the famous Coast to Coast (C2C) walk. Ennerdale Water which is flanked by some iconic mountains is 4 miles away. We are also close to the beautiful Wasdale Valley and Eskdale Valley. The town of Whitehaven is a 4 mile drive or bus ride away. Whitehaven harbour is the start of the Coast to Coast (C2 C) cycle route, which passes right outside the back of our garden. Cockermouth is a 20 minute drive away and the lovely town of Keswick with a twice weekly market is 30 minute drive away. Closer to home there are many pubs, restaurants and breweries that serve good locally produced food and real ale's. There are numerous walks close by to suit all abilities. From the highest mountain in England, Scafell Pike to the lower fells and flat walks around the beautiful lakes and tarns. Or take a more leisurely activity like a cruise around Derwent Water on the Keswick Launch or a ride on the Ravenglass & Eskdale Steam Railway, La'al Ratty, up the Eskdale Valley. Both of these attractions have stop off points where you can go and explore. Other top attractions close by are Muncaster Castle, Dove Cottage and Castle Rigg Stone Circle. There are buses that run through Cleator Moor to Whitehaven, Workington, Maryport, Cockermouth and Keswick. Closest National Rail Station and National Coach Station is at Whitehaven.
