A newly fitted bathroom and kitchen for your private use is well equipped. Comfortable sofas inside and under the pergola for summertime make this base a difficult one to leave for the day's sightseeing! From the pergola uninterrupted and panoramic views to the Golfo Dei Poeti and coastline of Lerici, Portovenere and islands of Palmaria are simply beautiful by day and exceptional by night, Our beautiful olive grove in ancient landscape is equipped with tables, chairs for shady 'al fresco' lunches. Hammocks & sunbeds for snoozing are at your disposal. The property's garden is fenced and guests have access to the garden including an olive tree shower in a shady natural setting - ideal after an uphill hike from the beach. The location of the cottage is truly private and special, and is approached off the highway Strada Provinciale (SP28) road.direction for La Serra to Zanego, high above Lerici and Tellaro. A Strada Privata is a steep old private track of about 300 metres which we recommend you stroll down and do not chance taking your car. It passes through beautiful live oak and pine woods. We do not advise the use of your car to the cottage because of the precipitous and difficult road conditions. We do recommend that you park your vehicle on the main road SP28 in the lay-by (see photos). Bella Vista is free and as a lay-by only ever has tourists parked admiring the sunset. The dwelling is set behind electric gates within a well fenced naturally landscaped garden and ancient olive grove boasting uninterrupted sea views. There are numerous shady places for quiet reflection or sunbathing each offering outstanding and elevated views of the Golfo Dei Poeti and the islands of Palmaria The owners are sometimes available during your stay, but not always. A key safe allows guests to arrive independently. It is recommended to arrive in the daylight due to difficult access by foot. The cottage is suited for people wanting true seclusion and an immersion in nature. Ideal for hikers, walkers and those hankering for the simple pleasures in life...this property is not ideal for those unable to walk hills. Work up an appetite walking footpaths of Montemarcello Natural Park: 15 mins to beaches and a swim in the sea. Seafood lunches in coastal villages, then home for 'al fresco' dining on terrace equipped with pizza oven. Boat trips from Lerici to Portovenere and the Cinque Terre. Capo d'Acqua is a gem of a holiday destination and easily accessible to the Cinque Terre (Five Earths) the World Heritage Site and part of UNESCO. By contrast the magical place of the Hobbit's Home and surrounding villages of unspoilt Tellaro, La Serra and Lerici is the unique and accolade ' I Borghi più belli d'Italia' . We hope this area remains a hidden secret for you, and families, couples and individuals alike, for many years to come. Portovenere, not to be confused with Portofino, makes a lovely day out across the bay by local hop-on boat. Sailing, swimming, snorkelling, canoeing, scuba diving, or visiting the mountains of Carrara marble are all here on the doorstep. Further away from the coast, the cities of Lucca, Pisa and Florence are easily accessible by train or car. if visits to the beaches and the fishing villages of the environs and the Conque Terre are too much effort. There is plenty to do from your doorstep and garden - for example best of all there's the myriad of ancient Etruscan and Roman footpaths on the doorstep of our home which connects you to 100's of kilometres of the great Parco di Mantemarcello hiking trails. It's idyllic location 150 metres above sea level offers the best of both worlds: stupendous far-reaching sea views, isolation, countryside, wildlife, yet within reach of Tellaro and La Serra and Lerici. The 'sentieri/footpaths arrives within 20 minutes for local food shopping. We do not advise driving your car to the cottage because of the narrow and steep track. You are able to park your vehicle in the lay-by next to the main road SP28 . The (unmarked) parking is free and is used by tourists. Parking is at owners' risk. if travelling without a car it is possible to bring your bicycles or enjoy the freedom of local transport by arriving on foot. A network of local buses serves the area in and out of Lerici. The nearest airport is Pisa which is 45 mins drive. The nearest train station is Sarzana or the larger town and station of La Spezia Centrale. A good local taxi service is available which will collect you from Pisa and deliver you to the parking near our home (cost around €90). It is possible to bring your bicycles or enjoy the freedom of local transport by arriving on foot. 1. We do not recommend vehicle access by Car to the door of the property. As explained we recommend approaching the property by foot only. The Strada Privata is used by three other properties and therefore should not be blocked by stationary vehicles. 2. Please note that the Tourist Tax (usually €1.50 per person per night for the first five (5) nights) has been suspended by the local Comune. However, Identity documents are required by the local police. 3. It is your responsibility to dispose of your rubbish as set out in the local Rubbish Calendar. Guest's Rubbish cannot be left at the property and must be carried away.. 4. Please do not light fires. Fires are illegal in the Natural Park because of the obvious dangers. In this is a beautiful protected area of Montemacello, there are wild animals including wild boar. Please respect nature and remember nature can be dangerous. Keep gates closed to the property at all times. 5. We have a resident and friendly male dog. We allow well-behaved dogs to stay. Dogs must not be left unattended in the property. Dogs are not allowed on the beach. Please clean up after dogs in our garden. Dogs should sleep in kitchen at night. Thank you!
