Welcome to Windsor House, Walhalla. Built in 1890 using 90,000 handmade bricks, Windsor House provides a unique opportunity to stay in one of the last original properties in the gold mining town of Walhalla, Gippsland. Windsor House offers five bedrooms for bed and breakfast accommodation. A separate three bedroom residence, The Quarters, is also available for self-catered accommodation and is well suited to families or groups. This listing is for one bedroom and not the entire house. This listing is for one bedroom only within Windsor House - the Aberfeldy Suite which contains its own ensuite. Additional rooms are available to book. Windsor House is not suitable for children under 12 or guests with mobility difficulties as the bedrooms are all located on the second level of the property up a flight of stairs. Adjacent to Windsor House is The Quarters which is a self-contained three bedroom property. The Quarters is well suited to families with children or groups and those wishing to cook their own meals. There is a separate Airbnb listing for this property. This Airbnb listing is for The Aberfeldy suite. The Aberfeldy suite is the largest suite available in Windsor House. It is located on the second level and contains a four poster queen size bed overlooking the front garden. The suite has an ensuite bathroom with shower and toilet. This suite is $220 per night with a maximum occupancy of 2 guests. Breakfast is included for all guests. Breakfast is served between 8am and 9am in the downstairs dining room (or otherwise at a time agreed upon by prior arrangement). Guests have access to free tea and coffee making in the guest lounge/dining area. Check in is available from 2pm and check out by 10am Please be aware that mobile phone reception is only available in Walhalla for Telstra customers. Walhalla is just over a two hour drive from Melbourne. A great place to visit for a weekend. Windsor House is under the new management of Gaele and Mark as of October 2019. We are contactable at all times during your stay. There are lots of things to do in Walhalla. Take a stroll down the main street and enjoy a coffee and the historic buildings. Visit the local gold mine for a tour or take a train ride on the Walhalla Goldfields railway line. There are many bush walks in the area and you can also walk to the cricket ground on a hill above the town. Visiting the local cemetery is a must see. Walhalla is a great place to unwind and relax and step back in time. There is no petrol station in Walhalla.
