Lovely Dartmoor cottage in stunning countryside
Kings Cottage is a cosy granite Dartmoor Cottage with lots of beams and character. Big fireplace with woodburner and lots of logs available. Two bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. Pretty garden with lovely views of the surounding Moor. In a tiny hamlet not far from Widecombe in the Moor, the cottage is peaceful and quiet. The open moor is a few minutes' walk away and one can roam for miles over beautiful hills and valleys with amazing views. close by are Sharp Tor and Corndon Down. The cottage sits on the side of a hill with views of several tors. The Two Moors Way runs close by and there is a lovely woodland walk along the river to a hamlet called Jordan. There is a decent sized garden for dogs and barbecues, or just relaxing and enjoying the views or reading a book. Widecombe in the Moor is an hour’s stroll across fields and has an excellent pub, the Rugglestone which serves good real ales and food. The village also has a really good cafe with great cakes and coffee, for a break on your walk. The South Hams of Devon, with stunning coastline and sandy beaches is a short drive away. Its brilliant for walking, cycling, kayaking, riding, fishing and lots of other things. Or just relaxing in front of the fire. I'm on the end of a phone if you need me, and there is a great visitor centre at Princetown, up the road, where you can find lots to do. The cottage is in a group of four, at Lynchaford, just outside the hamlet of Ponsworthy. It sits towards the 'high moor' close to the River Dart and the beautiful Webburn Valley. Getting around is easy. Car. Horse. Bike. Walk. Or Llama (really!)
