A stylish three bedroom beach house with laid-back charm, set on a beautiful and peaceful stretch of beach just a few minutes from the Matara town. The quiet strip of beach lies just a few steps down a private garden shaded by coconut trees. The sea is calm and is perfect for swimmers and body boarders alike. This stretch of beach is also becoming popular with surfers. Our guests fall asleep to the sound of the breaking waves. The house has three bedrooms, each with their own en-suite bathrooms. There is also a kitchen and a cosy dining and sitting area. The veranda and deck overlooking the garden and ocean is where our guests tend to spend most of their time. The house comes with a friendly staff housekeeper who cooks and cleans the premises each day. I live in Colombo and will generally not be at the house. The staff in the house are able to attend to all your needs. I can also be reached on my mobile at any time. Listed below are some things to see and do in the area. - Swimming and body boarding at the beach in front of the house - Surfing at the beach in front of the house - Snorkelling at the Polhena beach (15 minute drive) or Weligama bay (25 minute drive) - Bird watching at the bird sanctuary at Kiralakele in Thudawe (10 minute drive) - Whale watching from Mirissa (20 minute drive) - Udawalawe wildlife park (2 hour drive) - Blow hole at Kudawella (40 minute drive) - Ancient rock temple at Mulkirigala (1 hour drive) - Pilgrimage to Kataragama (2.5 hours drive) Meals are not included in the above rates. They can be provided on request. A menu and the charges are available with the housekeeper. We cater to both non-vegetarians and vegetarians. Unfortunately, we do not have a spare room for a driver or tour guide but there is plenty of accommodation available in the Matara town.
