Welcome to Montelac Lakeside, a three bedroom all-season lakefront retreat on beautiful Greenwood Lake nestled between Sterling Forest and the Appalachian Trail Corridor. The home is conveniently located one block from a NJ Transit bus stop with service to/from Port Authority - no need for a car! Boating, Hiking, Fishing, Skiing, Breweries, Wineries, Distilleries, Apple Picking, Waterfront Restaurants, Shopping, Historical Sites, Equestrian areas & Golf - all nearby (or right in the backyard). Please Note: This property is most appropriate for families or small groups looking for a relaxing getaway. We do not allow Bachelor / Bachelorette parties or similar gatherings that may disturb our neighbors. Please review our rules before booking and make sure all members of your party are aware of the expectations. The hosts live in the neighboring detached cottage so you may meet us during your stay. We are also always available by phone or email to address questions or concerns. Montelac Lakeside is a 1,600 SF 3 bedroom 2 Bath waterfront home in Greenwood Lake, New York. The house sleeps a maximum of 9 guests however we suggest 6 adults for optimum comfort and privacy. You will enjoy a spacious ground floor kitchen and living space that opens onto a 400 SF deck that overlooks the water. On the second-floor you will find three well-appointed bedrooms. The master features a private 100 SF deck, king size bed and day bed that expands to a second king size bed. The second bedroom also contains a king size bed while the third bedroom has a full size with a single rollaway tucked underneath. We’ve outfitted the home extensively so you can focus on enjoying your vacation. A pontoon may be moored at the dock during your stay. Unless you have previously arranged with us to rent the pontoon, please do not board the boat. We live in the neighboring cottage so you may meet us during your stay. We are also always available by phone or email. Please be aware that our cottage shares the property's waterfront & dock and we preform regular upkeep on the yard & hot tub. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION The 196 Express & 197 Local NJ Transit buses come/go from Port Authority Bus Terminal one block from the house at Windermere Avenue and Walnut Street (the stop following Greenwood Lake Park and Ride). It's a quick walk so no car is required! Once you're here, dining and shopping is walking distance so you can grab a cab to reach local wineries and breweries to enjoy responsibly! Make a left at Windermere Ave. WHAT’S WITH THE NAME “Montelac Lakeside”? The area around Greenwood Lake has been a vacation destination for over 170 years. Previous to the incorporation of the village, “Montelac Park” was the name used on plot plans subdividing the land that the house sits on. We’ve incorporated the history of the Lake in photos, postcards and artwork in every room of the house so you can become acquainted with the area.
