Y Fan (formerly known as Van Mansion) is a Grade II listed manor house located on the edge of Caerphilly town only a 15 minute walk from Caerphilly Castle and Caerphilly train station. Gwern y Domen ancient meadowland is on the doorstep - ideal for a pre breakfast or afternoon walk! The bedrooms are all spacious bedrooms with free guest WIFI, a large TV, tea and coffee making facilities and ensuite shower room (one also has a bath). A large communal salon features a wood burner, licenced bar a large selection of books and games. Free guest parking covered by CCTV. There is also an electric car charging point on the car park (subject to extra charge). We live at the property and will be on site throughout your stay. Whilst Wales Covid rules are in place which require accommodation to be self contained (i.e en-suite bathroom and room service), we will be unable to serve breakfast in the dining room and the full cooked breakfast will not be available. We will instead offer a continental breakfast served to your room. Under normal circumstances and when Covid rule permit, breakfast will be served in the communal dining room and guests will have access to a separate lounge with licenced bar The property is within very easy reach of all business parks in Caerphilly and the ideal base for people travelling for work. Literally on the doorstep, Gwern y Domen is part of the 3% of remaining ancient meadowland in the UK and offers stunning scenery - a lovely place for a walk in peaceful surroundings. Caerphilly Castle is only a 15 minute walk away and Caerphilly train station also approximately a 15 minute walk with frequent trains into Cardiff Queen St and Cardiff Central stations. Easy access to the M4, A470 and the Taff trail make the location a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding areas. Caerphilly train station is located approximately 15 minutes walk from the property with frequent trains into Cardiff (approx 15 mins). The M4 and A470 are within easy reach and the Taff Trail within a reasonable cycling distance for those keen to cycle or walk the trail.
