Enjoy a break in our beautiful cavernous Yurt, set next to a river, in its own private field and woodland, surrounded only by nature. Perfect for romantic breaks, fun family getaways, and those who seek peace and relaxation, with easy access to South Cornwall's many attractions. You have the entire site to yourselves, including private kitchen, toilet and shower. Bedding, towels, Wifi, solar electricity, fridge, USB charging points, mains water and wood burner are provided The yurt is located on its own, next to a river, within a small coppice field, surrounded by woodland and other fields. There is also a large area the other side of the river, where the outdoor kitchen and bbq area are located, along with a bridge, cave, fire pit and rope swings. Your own private toilet, shower and washing up facilities are located in the field, next to the yurt. Parking is convenient and right next to the yurt field (there is space for 2 cars). The site is secluded, private and for your sole use only (we only have 1 yurt, so you don't have to share any of the space with others). The immediate area around is full of old mine buildings, nature reserves, glorious woodland walks and many trails, paths and bridleways (ideal for walkers and trail runners). The yurt is very large (20ft diameter), insulated and comfortably sleeps up to 5, with a double bed and 3 single beds, with plenty of free space to move around in. Bedding and towels are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own if your prefer (please let us know in advance). The yurt also has clothes storage, a dining table and chairs, comfy bean bags, a small camping stove (for hot drinks only) and a clothes horse. Wifi is provided, but if you prefer to un-plug completely, we can disable the wifi for you. The site is off-grid, with low voltage power supplied by solar panels, providing lighting and USB charging points. Water is mains-supplied (drinkable), and the fridge, cooking hob and shower are gas-powered. Wood / logs are made available - please see below for more details). Located next to the yurt is the shower and washing up facilities (separate wooden building, with mains water and gas powered heated shower). Toilet facilities are located in the same field as the yurt (only 30 meters away), and comprise a brand new solar-powered, composting toilet (with urinal and hand washing facilities). Cross-over the river / bridge from the field into the cooking and play area, where you can enjoy more outside space. Here you will have your own private BBQ, covered outdoor kitchen, fire pit, stream and rope swing. The kitchen is well equipped, and includes a 2 ring gas stove (plus grill), ample crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, and cooking equipment. There is a table and 8 seats (4 wooden, and 4 portable camping chairs), and a gas powered fridge, although you are welcome to keep drinks cool in the stream (there is a wine cooling crate attached to the bridge). The site is accessed by car along a quiet dirt track, and is completely separate from any dwellings, surrounded only by woodland and fields. Our house is located further down the track. There is parking for only 2 cars at the yurt site, although we can accommodate another car at our house. Our cottage is located further down the bridleway to the yurt, far enough away for you to have complete privacy, but close enough should you need our assistance. We are always ready to help and advise. If your dates don't fit our minimum stay requirements, please message us, and we will see if we can accommodate your requirements Our small hamlet of Carwynnen is a site of archaeological interest, with Giants Quoit only a 5 minute walk away. Carwynnen is also fantastic for wildlife lovers, with one of Cornwall Wildlife Trusts best woodland nature reserves, Pendarves Wood, located on the door step. It is peaceful and green and we regularly see wildlife in the woods and fields - including rabbits, deer, foxes, badgers and lots of birds including Buzzards and Barn Owls (Otters have been observed in the river, although sightings are rare). Carwynnen (Nr Troon) is very centrally located to some of the best tourist attractions South Cornwall has to offer, with easy access by car to beaches (18 minutes to nearest beaches Gwithian and Godrevy), St Ives (25 minutes), The Lizard (25-30 minutes), Truro (20 minutes), Falmouth (30 minutes) and St Austell Eden Project (40-45 minutes). The nearest bus stop, shop and pub are a 5 minute drive, 10 minute cycle or 20 minute walk For the yurt wood burner, we provide kindling free of charge. We also provide some large nets / baskets of logs free of charge, enough to heat the yurt on colder evenings (not normally required over the warmer summer months, as the yurt is insulated, but you will still be provided with logs in case). If you require extra logs for the fire pit, we are happy for you to bring your own, but we can also also provide these at cost. If you don't need to light the wood burner, you are also welcome to use the logs provided for it on the fire pit.
