Our home is in the heart of the picturesque Cotswold countryside, with excellent walking and sightseeing opportunities. Bourton-on-the-Water, Cirencester, Oxford and Stratford upon Avon are all within easy reach. You’ll love our house because it provides plenty of space both in the private bedroom/bathroom and the garden. A garden house and secure parking are here for you. Guided walks available on request. Our accomodation is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. We welcome you into our home. Our guest room and en-suite bathroom is private within the rest of our house, with tea and coffee available in your room, plus a hair dryer, trouser press and use of dressing gowns. Breakfast can be in our dining room or in the kitchen, whichever you prefer. We serve a continental breakfast of home made fruit compote, home made yoghurt, cereals, home-made bread, marmalade and jams, coffee and tea. You are very welcome to relax in our conservatory, and in all areas of our garden including the gardenhouse. Tell us what time you are arriving and we will have the kettle on for tea. Your car will be safe and secure on our drive, behind automatic locking gates. We are happy to advise on walks, on places to see, and restaurants in our local area. We can take you (for a small fee) on guided walks locally of about 2 hours duration or even a scenic drive to nearby villages in our classic open-top 1967 Morris Minor. Also, we have bicycles for rent (at own risk). Little Rissington is well placed between major towns and cities including historic Oxford, Cheltenham (eg, for the races), Stratford on Avon (theatre), Stow on the Wold and Burford (best tea shops), the lovely market towns of Cirencester and Chipping Norton, plus all the delightful Cotswold villages with their village greens, streams running through and country pubs. Our home is tucked away in a quiet Cotswold village, still with a working farm. You don't need to drive to go walking but short drives will add to the repetoire of walks. Burford and Stow on the Wold are close, with their antique shops and mediaeval architecture. Lower Slaughter is a picturesque village, as are Chipping Camden, Stanton and Stanway. Bourton on the Water is a stone's throw away, with its model village, motor museum, perfumery, and exotic bird sanctuary. There is a bus to nearby Bourton on the Water and to Kingham Railway Station, but you are advised to have your own transport to make the best use of your time. Bring your National Trust cards if you are members; also the privately owned Compton Verney is a beautiful stately home about 40 minutes away, as is Blenheim Palace (birthplace of Winston Churchill). The famous Daylesford Organic farm shop is c.5 miles away. All the Cotswold village streams eventually run in to the River Thames and if you travel 16 miles to Lechlade it is possible to hire a boat on the Thames. The Rissington villages all have lovely parish churches, each with special features.
