It is our home away from home and we would love for you to enjoy the house and garden as much as we do. We strive for our accommodation to be socially responsible and sustainable, and we take great pride in supporting local businesses and artists. The house is comfortable, contemporary and beautifully finished. The garden is a treasure trove of rhododendrons, azaleas, hydrangea, established European trees, and newly planted fruit trees. Perfect for young and old, the garden provides endless opportunities for exploration and adventure. The local pub (Mount Macedon Hotel) and café (Trading Post) are a 5-minute walk away. Further afield, the local townships of Macedon, Woodend, Kyneton and Trentham are only a short drive away – each offering unique delights and attractions. Our property is not well fenced and will not suit all animals. Please get in touch and we will try and work something out. Please note, the garden has a stream and pond, and for that reason, children must be supervised at all times. You'll have private access to the whole house and garden. We offer the flexibility of self-check-in with a lockbox. You will have complete privacy during your stay at Willowglade. If you have any concerns, we are available via phone/SMS. As you can probably tell, we are passionate about our property and the Macedon Ranges. Some of the things we like to enjoy whilst in the area include: relaxing by the fire, meals at the Trading Post Café and Mount Macedon Hotel (both within a 5-minute walk), exploring the rare-plant nursery (next to the cafe), enjoying the numerous bushwalking trails (including to the famous Memorial Cross), visiting the stunning seasonal gardens, and having a drink or two at the local wineries (Hanging Rock and Mt Towrong are our favourites). Further afield, it is only a short drive to Honour Avenue, Macedon, Hanging Rock, Woodend, Kyneton and Daylesford – all of which have a huge array of markets, art galleries, spas, restaurants and outdoor activities. There really is so much to see and do! Mount Macedon is approx. 50 minutes from Melbourne CBD via the Calder Freeway (Mt Macedon/Macedon C322 exit. This is an easy and beautiful drive. The property is 6km from the Macedon train station. We require a minimum of 2-night stay. Long weekends & New Year's Eve minimum 3-nights stay. Christmas and Easter period minimum 4-night stay. The house has two bedrooms and the booking cost is for 4 people. The couch does convert into a queen-size bed meaning an additional two guests can stay (at a cost of $25 per additional guest per night). Please let us know when booking so we can provide the extra bedding. Check-in time is from 3 pm. Check-out time is 12 pm We try and accommodate early check-in/late check-out where possible, however, this is at our discretion and can not be guaranteed - please get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule. Mount Macedon is a bushfire prone area. As such, guests will be required to leave on days of extreme fire risk (Code Red days or if there is an active fire nearby). Unfortunately, it is typical to be made aware of fire ratings only 2-3 days prior. We apologise in advance if this occurs during your stay, however, your safety is our main concern and you will be required to leave. If this occurs you will receive a refund for any night(s) you could not stay. We recommend all guests travelling during the fire danger period download the Vic Emergency App so they can receive up to date information about active fires, fire danger ratings, fire bans and local emergency warnings. There is beehive on the property in the north eastern corner near the orchard. Like any great relationship it thrives on mutual respect. Our experience has been that the bees won’t cause you any trouble if you keep a safe distance - we’d suggest at least 3m. Children should always be supervised in the garden.
