Medieval and botanical village (Label „the nicest villages of France“), spread out at the foot of the Vercors mountain and in the middle of the “Drome Bio Valley”, Châtillon en Diois is one of the most typical of Diois villages. The climate is influence from the Mediterranean weather of the Provence and the French Alps. Get lost in the maze of its “viols” (little alleys) and appreciate the surprise, around a corner, of a little square, a fountain or an old washing reservoir. The House is situated in the heart of the historical village and is dating back to the 18 th century. It is oriented east-west so that you have sun all day long. It was renovated in 2012 and has 2 main habitation floors with around 200 sqm. By the renovation we try to preserve the spirit and character of the old house but also provide all the modern standards of equipment. An independent garden (80 sqm) is attached to the living room which has about 40 sqm. There is a brand new high-end kitchen fully equipped (Dish-Washer, Oven, plaque induction, fridge, micro-wave) and lot of space for convivial atmosphere. On the second floor, there are 2 big bedrooms and 1 small bedroom for kids. 1st Bedroom with 2 double beds ( 160 cm + 140 cm) and in the 2nd Bedroom 1 double bed ( 140 cm). The small bedroom for kids have a bunk bed. (In the living room is also a posibility of accomodation for 2 persons, sofa bed) On each floor, there are facilities (small bathroom and toilettes separed. The bathrooms were not renovated jet, they are still a bit oldfashioned but very clean.) We can provided you towels and bed-sheets on demand (25 Euro/bed). Situation: 60 Km from the A7 Motorway (Rhone Valley) and 90 km from Grenoble. Services: In the Village, you can get all the basics as chemist, backery, small supermarket, post office, doctor. Wash-Salon. Bike Rental (3 km away), 3 Restaurants ( Le caveau, le Moulin, Dauphine) bancomat. Next City is Die, 15 km away. We advice you to come by car because the public transportation in the region are not so good. Activities around Chatillon en Diois: Streams and rivers, rocks, trees, waterfalls, mountains…The Drome Valley and the Vercors Mountain are a veritable paradise for adults and children on the lookout for simple pleasures or excitement..You'll find all sorts of thrills in the Diois: relaxing, enjoying the local products, hiking, biking, water-activities (open swimming-pools, wild rivers for canyoning, kayaking, rafting), climbing and other outdoor activities. If you like to enjoy good foods and wine, there are plenty of wine-makers in the region and also in Chatillon. Typical products like Clairette (Sparkling Wine), Lavendel Honey, Goat Cheese, bio and aromatic products can be found on the weekly colourfull markets (in Chatillon on Fridays). Near Chatillon, there is plenty of pittoresque and contrastfull natural places. Alot to discover during your stay! F F
