The Shepherds Hut, Tritchmarsh Farm
Tritchmarsh Farm is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, only a few miles inland from the Jerassic Coast. Our Shepherd style hut is located in its own field under some oak trees. it has a small fence around it so that the horses in the field don't disturb you. if it is peace and quite you require then this is the place for you the Shepherds hut has a full size double bed, for which i provide the bedding, there is a bench seat with a bunk above which can be used as 2 extra beds, ideal for kids. if these are required then you will have to provide your own sleeping bags and pillows. it is well relatively well equipped with a small cooker/hob/grill, there is cutlery crockery, as well as a limited amount of pots and pans. There is also a small fridge. the hut has electricity and there is water from a tap outside. not suitable for drinking, so you will need bottled water. it has a small pot bellied stove, for which i supply the wood if it gets cold enough to light it. there is a toilet and shower block located behind the stables which is shared with any guests in the gypsy caravan. and the tipi in the listed material it says i provide towels, i don't, so please bring all your own towels. there is a fire pit outside that you can BBQ on, please bring own charcoal and equipment if required, or i can supply nets of logs at £7.50 per net ... please bring cash. the hut can be booked for a minimum of 2 nights. I can do discounts for complete weeks. we are a small farm, we keep mainly horses both for competitions and driving, so there is usually quite a bit going on with them. we also have chickens, geese, cows and calves [sometimes], oh, and a pet racoon. We welcome guests who are interested in the animals, but obvious restrictions apply. the hut is set away from the house, in a quiet field, we like you to have your own space, as much as we like to have ours. there are 2 other airbnb properties on this site, but all are in their own fields. you do however share a bathroom, this is located behind our big stable barn, it has a shower but if you need to shower 3 times a day, this is probably not the place for you ! If there is anything else i can provide, you only need to come find me and ask and i will do my utmost to make your stay as fantastic as possible :) this an area of "outstanding natural beauty" and lives up to its name. we are also right on the Jerassic coast, so there is lots to explore. For anyone into bird watching, this is paradise. we have practically no neighbours. You will need a car ! or bikes, or you will need to enjoy walking. there are no public transport links near by. the nearest train station in Axminster, [15 minutes by car] and i can sometimes pick people up, but dont expect a que of taxis to be waiting outside for you, you will need to organise one. We are 1.5 miles from Colyton, which does have buses and there is a tram link to Seaton. that said ther are some lovely walks, if that is your thing. you are welcome to bring your dogs, but there are a few ground rules,..... you need to bring bedding for them, i do not want them on the soft furnishings. they must also stay on a lead while on the farm, a 100m walk outside the gate they have all the space they could ever want to run around loose. we also have 2 farm dogs.... this is their home.
