Just north of Port Douglas and Mossman, Gunnadoo is far enough away to enjoy spectacular peace and quiet, but close enough to everything you could wish for your holiday. We border the Daintree National Park and Cape Tribulation is just up the road, perfect for a day trip or two of exploring the world’s oldest Rainforest. Great Barrier Reef cruises depart from Port Douglas, a 25 min. drive south as well as from Cape Tribulation. Mossman Gorge and Township is just a 10 min. drive from us. The Lotus Room is very spacious and comfortable with high ceilings and an ensuite bathroom, TV, work desk, sofa, bar fridge, tea & coffee making and opens to the pool deck as well as the private back rainforest verandah with BBQ. We are happy to share our unique treehouse with guests from all around the world, the house offers lots of space and privacy with 2 verandahs, BBQ, pool deck and a spacious open plan living area that opens up to both verandahs and amazing views everywhere! If you are an early riser watch the sunrise from the verandah and if it's full moon you can watch the moon rise over the Coral Sea. Included in your stay are staples such as: Lavazza Coffee, Herbal & Black teas, oil & vinegar, sauces and spices. For your comfort we provide pool towels, sarongs and dressing gowns. We also offer a private, self contained Ocean View Hut which is located on our property, away from the main house with a jacuzzi. The inside is decorated in an eclectic style with a Queen Bed, fridge, tea & coffee making, microwave, air conditioning, TV and ensuite bathroom. The highlight of the hut is the surrounding deck with a Jacuzzi overlooking the ocean! This accommodation sleeps 2 people. Our spacious pole house is surrounded by verandahs overlooking the ocean as well as the rainforest and offer various seating areas for relaxing, dining or birdwatching, just sit back with a cool drink and enjoy! We give guests privacy but are also available for any local information and tour bookings if required. Guests have also access to the open plan living, share kitchen, pool, BBQ, Gym and laundry. We live onsite and feel very comfortable to share our house with guests giving respectful privacy or share information if required. We are happy to provide our guests with all the local advise and tour information as well as tour bookings so they can experience the best of our unique area and the world heritage listed surrounds. Great Barrier Reef cruises depart from Port Douglas, a 25 min. drive south as well as from Cape Tribulation, the Daintree ferry crossing is a 15min. drive north. Rocky Point beach is just across the road from us, a beautiful, natural and secluded beach. Mossman Township is a 10 min. drive from us and offers all your essential shopping including a large supermarket, some restaurants and cafes, as well as Saturday morning farmer’s markets. Mossman Gorge offers fresh water swimming as well as rainforest walks. How to get to us: From Cairns airport drive north along the scenic Great Barrier Reef drive (Captain Cook Highway), pass Port Douglas and continue to drive north for about 20 min. After Mossman township the Captain Cook Highway becomes the Mossman-Daintree Road. Once you reach Rocky Point continue your drive until you see the GUNNADOO sign and orange flag on your left, a 300m sealed concrete driveway winds up through age-old rainforest foliage to the house, set 162 feet above sea level. Just park under or in front of the house and we can use the lift for your luggage, no need to bring bags up the stairs. We suggest you arrive during daylight hours, the property can be hard to find after dark and our driveway goes up steep through rainforest, use low gear all the way.
