An idyllic farmhouse villa with private swimming pool and 3.5 Hectares (9 acres) of land. Situated in a tiny, tranquil hamlet in the heart of the Dordogne Valley, this is the perfect, peaceful haven to get away from it all. And yet, the villa has wonderful views across the Dordogne valley and is a stone’s throw from world-famous towns and villages, including Beynac, La Roque Gageac, Domme and Sarlat. La Longere is also pet friendly and is pure paradise for up to 2 dogs. Villa Perigord is a beautiful farmhouse villa with a gorgeous and private 10m x 5m swimming pool, located on the edge of the village of Saint-Vincent-de-Cosse. It is set right at the heart of the Dordogne Valley in the stunning Perigord Noir region, a stone's throw from Sarlat, La Roque Gageac, Beynac and Domme. It can sleep up to 8 people, but is equally attractive to smaller groups, including couples, being cosy, compact and bijou. There is a huge south-facing verandah which is perfect for outdoor living and enjoys sweeping views across the valley. Assuming your weather is good, this is where you will spend most of your time (that is, when you are not out and about enjoying the historic sights and sounds of the Dordogne!). There’s a large stone BBQ (with chimney) and the adjoining front garden is fully enclosed. The kitchen diner is the focal point of the house with its magnificent fireplace and a huge farmhouse table (made from an old barn door!) which can seat up to 10 people in comfort. The galley kitchen is fully equipped, with a gas hob, electric oven, large Samsung fridge-freezer and 2 small dishwashers. The kitchen-diner opens out onto the amazing verandah. The compact living room contains 2 huge comfy sofas and English Satellite TV. There are 4 bedrooms, one of which is downstairs – so ideal for anyone with mobility issues. There’s also a downstairs bathroom with a separate toilet. The other 3 bedrooms are upstairs. Bedroom 2 is a lovely double, south-facing, which is next to the family bathroom (again the toilet is separate). Bedroom 3 (twin) and bedroom 4 (double) are adjoining. There is WI-FI throughout the house as well as 4G connectivity. The lawned garden is fully enclosed by wire fencing and amounts to about ½ an acre. Beyond the lawned garden is an unenclosed wild garden which sweeps up and around the hill behind the house, and affords magnificent views over the walnut trees and across the Dordogne valley. Guests are free to wander through the wild garden, although it can be steep in places so adults may want to take a look for themselves before allowing children to roam free. At the rear of the house there is another huge verandah, similar in size and design to the one at the front. On the very hottest days the rear (north-facing) verandah can provide much welcome respite from the blazing summer sun. Local amenities are plentiful. There is a bakery, butcher, wine merchant, restaurant, hotel and snack bar all within 1 mile and a further 3 excellent restaurants within 2.5 miles. There is a full array of shops and restaurants at St Cyprien (including a Carrefour supermarket), whilst Beynac has some charming boutique shops and restaurants. Sarlat is just 8 miles away, with numerous shops and restaurants, including a hypermarket. Well-behaved pets are most welcome. Guest have full use of the house and its gardens. Our property is managed locally by Sabine from En Toutes Saisons. That said, we are very hands on owners so if you are keen to speak to us at any time during your stay we will be ready, willing and able to help. It's a very quiet, rural neighbourhood. There's a fantastic bakery just 1 mile away, a lovely little snack bar 1 mile away, by the river, and an independent butchers at 1.5 miles. There's a full array of shops and restaurants at Saint Cyprien (4 miles) and a good selection of restaurants at Beynac (2.5 miles). Sarlat, our famous regional capital, is just 8 miles away, and has a vast array of shops, hotels and restaurants. You'll need a car but Saint Cyprien railway station is just a 5 minute drive away and from here you can take day trips directly to Sarlat, Bergerac and Bordeaux. Sarlat is just 8 miles away, about 15 minutes by car. BED LINEN & TOWELS Please note that bed linen and towels are supplied at €20 per person, payable to our local property management agency. Since many guests who come to stay from continental countries such as France and Germany are often keen to bring their own bed linen and towels, we thought it would make sense to break this out of the overall cost and make it optional. Our local property management agency will therefore be in touch shortly after your booking confirmation to discuss your requirements. CLEANING A compulsory cleaning charge of €120 is payable to the local agent on arrival day CHANGEOVER DAY Please note that In Peak season, changeover day is Saturday. For last minute bookings there may be some flexibility so please get in touch beforehand to check. Outside of peak we can be more flexible but, again, please check beforehand.
